Why Our Insiders Chose This Tour

What You Can Expect

Stonehenge and Bath Day Trip from London

Independent Stonehenge and Bath Afternoon Tour from London

Depart central London by air-conditioned coach and venture into the English countryside. As you travel, hear interesting facts about the region and your first destination — the prehistoric monument of Stonehenge on Salisbury Plain.

On arrival, enjoy time to explore this atmospheric site at leisure. Head inside, collect an informative audio guide, and ride the shuttle or follow the pathways to the UNESCO-listed stones that date back some 4,500 years.

Marvel at the gigantic stones and ponder how they were transported and raised here. Then, learn how and why Stonehenge was built — most scholars believe it formed a temple aligned to the sun — through the archaeological exhibitions and audiovisual experiences at the visitor center.

Next, continue west to the 18th-century city of Bath. All honey-stoned townhouses, terraces and bridges, this UNESCO-listed city is one of England’s crowning glories.

Enjoy the afternoon to explore this delightful city independently. Perhaps delve into the handsome streets to admire the Georgian architecture, seeing top Bath attractions such the Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge that spans the Avon River.

Alternatively, upgrade to visit the Roman Baths, one of the world’s best-preserved sets of Roman remains. Explore the Great Bath and museum, and discover how the Romans built and expanded the complex over Baths’ natural springs from the 1st century AD.

Or, perhaps upgrade to visit the Jane Austen Visitor Centre. The much-loved English novelist lived in Bath in the early 1800s, and this fascinating museum chronicles her life and works through documents, artifacts and interactive experiences.

Lastly, return to London, where your tour ends with a drop-off near Victoria rail station.

long day but they did a good job. Magnus with Premier Tours is a very good guide. would have liked a little more input at Stonehenge regarding using the Visitor Center facility

We had a wonderful time on this tour. Richard our guide provided excellent commentary during the bus rides, and he made sure to spend time chatting with each of the guests. Our driver Steve? handled the large double-decker tour bus skillfully, even on narrow country roads during a rain shower.

The time at Stonehenge about an hour was a bit brief, but we enjoyed our time there and saw what was most important to us. However, if you wish to spend time exploring the area around Stonehenge, I recommend you arrange to come separately or take a different tour.

Our time in Bath was very nice as well. The Roman baths are amazing and the attached museum wonderfully illustrates the history of the area though interactive exhibits and numerous artifacts on display. We spent much of our time exploring the baths, so there wasn't much time to wonder around the city, but we did manage to have a nice lunch at a restaurant across from the Roman baths, followed by a quick scoop of ice cream as we headed back to the tour bus.

This was well worth the money and really fun! Although, I had an injured knee both the driver Matt AND the tour guide Leon made every effort so that I was comfortable and happy. Our group was only 3, but the double-decker bus was completely full. We all enjoyed the vast reservoir of knowledge and wit Leon displayed through his educational and funny narratives during the trip. He also made sure everyone was on the bus before we left each destination. In addition, he answered endless questions with patience and professionalism.

We all felt safe with Matt driving the bus and he too was very knowledgable and gracious. He told us about his vast experience and stories pertaining to his career when asked. I must say he was very aware and attentive throughout the whole trip AND we were in some crazy traffic at times! Thank you, Matt! We'll see you again!

We enjoyed our tour guide’s dry humor and wit. Paul our driver was
very good and he too was funny. Enough time was given for us to
immerse ourselves in both locations.

We chose this combination because it seemed to give a good amount of time to each area. Stonehenge was about 1.5 hours which is more than enough time. Bath was about 3.5. We could have spent more time there. Definitely going back again but for a tour, this covers the basics. Our guide and driver, Dominick and Ady (sp?) were great! Very informative and entertaining the entire trip.

Highly recommend this tour!

Carol was an excellent and informative tour guide and Abdul a safe driver. We had enough time to see Jane Austen centre, Roman Baths, have lunch, shop and just sit and enjoy the scenery. My daughter and I had such a great time that we want to come back to Bath. The trip did take 12hrs but it was work it.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed this tour. Our guide Dominic was informative, entertaining and funny! I recommend this tour vs. others visiting more locations - you have the right amount of time at each location to see everything without feeling rushed. A great way to see unique UK sites in 1 day.

Had a great day at Stonehenge though weather was pretty freezing and Bath was nice too. Great commentary by the guide.
