Why Travelers Choose This Tour
This tour’s affordable price point makes visiting three of England’s UNESCO-listed sites extra accessible.
A great tour out of London making four stops. You have a tour leader who is very informative and you get free time at each of the four destinations. The tour start point is easier to find than it appears and is close to a Tube Station
Choose a different tour if seeing Bath or Stonehenge is really important to you. The side of the shuttle for this tour had the slogan, "Don't just see, experience!" written along the top. I found that to be the exact opposite of what this tour provided, we got to see several sites, but not experience any of them, unfortunately. For example, at Stonehenge we had a total of 1 hour to explore the site. The shuttle bus to get to the site from the visitor's center took 25 minutes, and the shuttle back took 30 minutes (including time in queue) - so that left about 5 minutes to see Stonehenge. Literally minutes at the actual site. It was ridiculous. I would chose a tour that focused on just these two sites, and not including Avebury and Lacock. Both sites are totally worth visiting, but the pressure to get to them meant we had to miss out on really experiencing the other two sites. The reason I gave this an "average" score is because the tour guide really did try their best to make it pleasant, despite the incredible time crunch.
We really enjoyed our full-day tour of Stonehenge with Paul on June 14. Paul was a very informative guide, and kept us entertained the whole time by pointing out landmarks and telling personal stories. The itinerary was ideal for us, as I had visited Stonehenge and Bath before but my Mom hadn't, so we both got to see something new. Lacock was the perfect picturesque village (I only wish that we had had more time to visit the Abbey), Avebury was a great complement to Stonehenge, and I really enjoyed seeing some of the typical sights of the Cotswolds like the thatched cottages and white horses along the way. The tour really gave us a good sense of the area, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a unique day trip out of the city.
If you are looking to get out of London and see some of the English countryside and history this is a great day tour. You will see all of the sites listed but will only have a few hours at each site but despite this we found the time to be well timed and we were able to see everything that we wanted to see despite the sometimes busy locations like Stonehenge. I would recommend this tour.
All was very nice the driver/guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Our time at Stonehenge was a bit short for someone walking with a cane it took us more time to walk from shuttle bus and around the site. And we did not have time to visit the exhibits. The rest of our tour was great Avebury us not to be missed. Overall great day/tour.
Amazing amount to see packed into one day. Kevin was a good driver and a friendly host. He made sure everybody was comfortable along the way. He pointed out sights and prepared us for each stop. When we returned to the bus from visiting a site we found on our seat a brochure for the next city to be visited. This was in addition to his narration. Two thumbs up for Kevin!
Stonehenge, Bath, Lacock and Avebury....each one different, each one very interesting. Stonehenge was fascinating and...wow! Bath was quaint and full of history. Lacock is picturesque (some scenes from Harry Potter were filmed here too) and Avebury is awesome. Avebury is another neolithic site, but this one you can walk among the stones.
Bottom line: good value for the money.
