Outstanding...getting the live Beefeater tour guide is well worth it. We had great WX...sunny for 2 days. Donald retired Royal Army tank commander was superb as the guide. Great sense of humor- love the Brits. Recommend watching Tower of London on Netflix before the real tour. R2, Ramstein, Germany
Excellent Tour, in this historic place, buying the ticket in advance save you from waiting in the queue.
Great place to visit. Allow time to see it all. Also when you finish walk up the hill to All Hallows church. It has an interesting
History and a crypt to explore.
We loved everything about this tour! The guides were very fun, witty and filled with information. The Tower was on my 10 year old son's life list and he was thrilled:) Shantel from Vancouver Island Canada.
We spent hours here, so much to see and explore. The Beefeater tour was fantastic and very informative yet funny at the same time. Would recommend going early to avoid the queues for the Crown Jewels. We went straight there after entering and glad we did as there were no queues, opposed to an hour later when the queues were very long.
Very good and well worth doing this tour.
Our guide,Shady was a fun, informative and made the tour very interesting.
I have visited the Tower twice before, but this was my best visit ever. All the exhibits were open, the staff were really helpful, the Beefeaters were enthusiastic, knowledgeable and funny.
The school children on school visits were polite and well behaved English and French
The toilets were clean and well tended and free
The trains to and from Tower Hill and Victoria were on time.
We snacked in the cafeteria and this was good value for London
We then dined at the Ivy Tower Bridge, which is just a short walk from the Tower and the food was excellent.
Overall our day was wonderful
Comfortable bus expertly driven
Our guide Sheila was wonderful, friendly , humorous and an incredible wealth of knowledge willingly shared . Never a dull moment
I'd do the ase trip again just to hear her talk about London
What a beautiful day we had
Thank you Shiela and dri
Not much crowd. No waiting even at mid-day. Great experience.
Loved the Tower of London with all of its history. The Beefeater tour was very entertaining even though it is included in every entrance ticket to the Tower.
Our AM destination was The Tower of London. Oh yes, the day was drizzly again. That makes two days in a row now. At the Tower of London, we saw the Crown Jewels and learned about the Tower ravens. There is a mythology or superstition that if the ravens fly away or otherwise leave, the Crown will fall and Britain with it. No wonder most of the ravens are now captive. Those clever Brits leave nothing to chance. The highlight of The Tower of London though had to be the Beefeaters tour. The first time we started the tour, we actually got lost. That however turned out to our advantage because the first tour group got the rain-shortened version. The second tour group the one we stayed with got the full, funny tour around the grounds along with some interesting, gruesome and humorous history. At the end of the tour we stepped into the Chapel of St. Peter and learned about torture techniques, dreadful deaths and the abusive royal power that occurred through much of the 16th century. Inside the chapel we even saw the final resting place of Anne Boleyn, Sir Thomas More, The Earl of Arundel and Robert Devereux. Before leaving the Tower Bridge area, we took quite possibly the best family selfie ever with the Tower Bridge in the background.
We had a wonderful time in on this tour! You can’t go to London and NOT do it!!!
The Tower of London just ooozes history and is a highly enjoyable wander through the building and grounds. Definitely recommended.
The Beefeater Tour was informative and entertaining, I highly recommend the tour as it is excellent. My husband and I found our Beefeater tour guide to be so friendly, knowledgable and helpful. He brought to life the history of the grounds. His sense of humor and dramatic presentation made the tour worth every penny we spent.
Yeoman Warder/Beefeater Lawrence was a fantastic guide! He was very knowledgeable, informative, with the right amount of humor and clever sarcasm. So glad we took this tour! Highly recommended, and the skip-the-line ticket was well worth it! Thank you!
Be sure to catch a guided tour, the Yoemans are fantastic! Don't miss out on this historic Castle, Crown Jewels and the beautiful views of Tower Bridge. Viator vouchers were easy to get and change in at the gates for tickets.
CoyoteLovely United States of ...
This was my second time on this tour, and I really just love the Beefeater portion of the tour. I could listen to their tours all day, every day. They're so funny and so touching, and so good at their jobs! We accidentally ran into our guide after the tour, as he was walking his dog in the moat of the Tower of London we stopped to watch the dog chasing a bird. He was super personable, and just lovely.
I also recommend seeing the Crown Jewels of course and the Armory in the main tower!
So much history here....discover something new every time I visit the Tower!
I have done this tour many times because the Beefeater guide is always so much fun and interesting. Our guide, Billy, did not disappoint. We saw the Crown Jewels with hardly any line and visited the armoury and learned something new. Worth the price.
