Great guide, amazing history! We took the taxi to St. Paul's and were glad we had saved energy for all the steps to the upper levels. What a view!
Loved this trip!! It was amazing and offered real unique insights into the Tower and St Paul's. You also get to skip queues and go into areas that are not visited by the general public. A real must-do if you have a few days in London.
We loved the walk, but some may find it a little long
You must book this tour. Our guide was Debra and she was everything you'd want! So knowledgable and funny. You do walk a LOT on this tour, so wear comfortable shoes. It was nice that we all had headphones, so if she was ahead of us, or we were a little separated, you could still hear her. The early entrance to the Tower was very cool. After some history of the Tower, you were free to explore on your own. Then we walked to St. Paul's - which was truly a wonderful experience. We were able to go up to the triforium where few tourists go, or even know about. My daughter called it St. Paul's attic, it's where the church stores items that they don't have room for, or just grow tired of. Special interest were the stones from different centuries, that were from previous excavations. The two-story library was amazing. Highly recommend this tour!
Our tour guide Norma was outstanding. Lots of history and medieval sites. St Paul's was great and the exclusive tour of the library and model worth the time.
Was at the opening of the gates at the Tower and saw the Beefeaters in action. Very special. St. Paul's is beautiful.
What a wonderful tour this was...starting early meant we were ahead of the crowds..the private visit to the Triforium at St Pauls was something not to be missed
Our guide Debbie was a fountain of information..her knowledge of history was impressive...she made our tour fun and enjoyable
One of the best tours I've been on
This VIP Tour is the best experience we had when visiting and touring London. You start with the Beefeaters opening the doors ceremony to the tower all before the rest of the public has access. The Beefeater who greeted us, was informative and entertaining. Our tour guide, Debra, was truly exceptional and extremely knowledgeable. She was our guide through the White Tower and narrated the tour of the Crown Jewels. What a treat. Following the tower was a nice walk to St. Paul's Cathedral, where our guide shared the history and stories of London's financial district, before arriving at St. Paul's. The tour through the Triforium was very special and unique to this tour. The day ended with our guide narrating a walk through the narthex, nave, choir, altar area, and the crypt. What a great day this was!
This tour was amazing. We got into the Tower of London about 30 minutes before the official opening of the front gates and got to talk with one of the senior Beefeaters. He was very informative and humorous. We got to see the changing of the guard and the transfer of the keys. After seeing the doors open and the crows start coming in, we got to jump in from of them to see the Crown Jewels. The Tower complex was smaller than I though it would be inside, but definitely not something to miss while visiting London. We had plenty of time to see the rest of the site and could have seen the jewels a second time if we wanted. Plenty of time also for a rest stop and snacks here.
After about 2.5 hours there, it is off on a walk through the streets to get to St Paul's Cathedral. This is a bit of a hike and you should be in good condition. Our lovely senior woman guide was a fast walker either that or I'm slowing down. She was excellent for filling us in on hundreds of years of history of both sites.
The Cathedral was awe-inspiring! The VIP access to the upper gallery was definitely worth it! Our official Cathedral guide was great and answered all our questions. We got to see some of the inner sites that normal tourist do not get to see in the lofts. We lucked out being able to see a group of seamstresses who were repairing one of the Cathedrals cloth banners. The detail was amazing to see. They had been working on this for 2 years! Wow. They talked to us about their volunteer job doing these repairs and how they loved it. We got to see the organ pipes up close and also the Harry Potter huge spiral staircase that is breath-taking to see from the top looking down. Not for the faint of heart!
Bottomline, this tour was worth every cent we paid, er, pounds! We love the whole day seeing these tow sites. This really is a VIP experience and well worth your time to see.
This whole tour lasts until about 3pm so expect to spend 6.5 to 7 hours altogether since this is not clear on the Viator site.
Great early access to the Tower and the Jewels, informative walking tour, access to St Paul's was awesome
Absolute highlight of our trip to London. Absolute must do. Worth every cent.
The access time provided superb viewing for the opening of the gates with guards. The tour guide had so much knowledge of not only the Tower of London and the Cathedral, but also all of London. As always, what the tour guide made the day exceptional.. This was one of our best tours taken on our 3 weeks of traveling.
Our guide was amazing! We had so much fun and learned so much! Lots of walking, but it was well worth it!
This was our most favorite tour of the trip and we did a lot of viator tours. Our guide Rachel was outstanding...the best we hae ever had. Rachel, I hope you get this feedback!! She was funny and told amazing stories which she tailored to her audience. My two teenage boys were enthralled and couldn't stop talking about it. It was a lot of walking but she made it interesting and told us all about the different building and their history as we did the long walk from Tower of London to St Pauls. Highly recommend especially if you can get Rachel!!
Absolutely fantastic tour and tour guide! We would recommend to anyone going to London!
Though this was an exhausting tour for us, it was well worth the price and effort. Our guide, Deborah, was fantastic. She was full of information and kept us motivated throughout the tour. She was very approachable and encouraged questions. She was like a mother hen, herding us through the streets of London, making sure we were all doing OK. A big plus was having a personal listening device with earphones for each participant this enabled us to hear what Deborah had to say - no matter if she needed to talk low at St. Paul's or talk over the traffic in the streets. I think all tours could benefit from using these devices.
We booked a tour with Viatour for the Tower of London and St. Paul's Cathedral. Our guide was excellent, accredited with a Blue Badge. The group was small - 11 people, and we had private access to the Tower Opening Ceremony and were first in to see the Crown Jewels. We had plenty of time to tour the complete Tower Complex, then walked for 1/2 an hour to St. Paul's Cathedral. In St. Paul's we had access to the top floors, met embroiderers, the librarian for the private book collection and saw items stored away from public viewing. Then we toured the entire Cathedral with our guide. She was excellent, quite humorous and extremely knowledgeable.
This tour is long and expensive, and completely worth the time and money. Our guide, Leslie, was well organized and very well informed on the history and contents of both the Tower of London and St. Paul's, plus many points walking between the two. The tour starts with the Beefeaters opening the Tower, which was very interesting and entertaining. Once inside the inner wall of the Tower of London, Leslie gave us an overview of the grounds, made recommendations on what to visit and how much time to spend at each location, and then set us free for an hour or so. Once we reconvened, she walked us through the City of London to St Paul's Cathedral, describing many of the sights along the way like the Bank of England building and Christopher Wren's monument for the Great London Fire. She took us to a rooftop location with excellent views of the city while waiting for the St Paul's tour to start, and described many aspects of London architecture and history while up there. At St Paul's, she handed us over to a guide who walked us through the triforium which is not generally open to the public, where there are many artifacts from the previous cathedral, the cathedral library, and the area where some wonderful ladies do the embroidery for the many banners around the church. Once that tour was through, Leslie gave us some time to wander and get lunch before meeting us to do a tour of the church itself as well as the crypt. My spouse and I agreed that we gained a lot of insight about the origins of London from this tour that we never would have gotten on our own. I highly recommend this tour!
Absolut worth the money. You get to see things the normal turists do not have access to. With very professionel and serviceminded guides.
Brilliant guide and we got to see Tower of London before the queus. Our guide was really good at showing us things on our way to St Paul's plus there was time to see St Pauls from the outside from a building close to it. We were only six in the group which was really good as we didn't have to wait for people, there was time for snacks and for a bit of shopping without a hassle. Worth every penny.
Great tour but long. Really good guide gave interesting history and details.
Guide Norma was great. Informative, easy going and helpful. Getting into tower early and seeing Key Ceremony were the way to go. As we were leaving, the crowds had already beset the place. Crown Jewels at your own pace is worth the ticket alone. The walk through the City was pleasant and, thanks to Norma, educational and interesting. It is a bit of a hike though, and while Norma couldn't have been more patient, some of our less mobile tour mates struggled some. St. Pauls was unbelievable. If you can make it, the climb to the top is well worth the considerable effort. The views were the best. Norma, as always, was there to give the crypt tour and American Chapel extra depth.
Our absolute favorite tour! The Beefeater tour before opening hours was incredible. We witnessed the opening ceremony of the keys.... Brilliant! So much gory history and the Line of Kings Exhibition took our breath away. A slow stroll to St. Paul's Cathedral was led by our tour guide who shared her knowledge of the history the London streets, businesses and time periods. At St. Paul's, we were truly treated like VIPs. We were granted private access to the library and model room which are closed to the general public. Both were exquisite and jaw dropping experiences.

We enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide, Sheila, was wonderful. Very informative and entertaining. Opening ceremony was interesting and it was great to get into see the crown jewels without having to wait in line.
The walk to St Paul's was at a good pace and the use of headsets really enhanced the experience as you could listen to her without having to stop and gather round.
After the tour to the gallery and library of the cathedral there was a break for lunch. If you wanted to come back Sheila was there to finish the tour on the main floor. Wonderful tour.
