This is a fun tour
It is great to find those small hidden gems , were the food is local , fresh and tasty ,plus being reasonably priced .
Issi knows his way around and showed us some great spots ,which we shall visit again and again
Well worth the cost. The 3 hour tour with our guide Jesus met and began at the new mall near the Marina which is very convenient and easy to get to. The first stop was actually at an eatery in the mall which gave me second thoughts Oh Oh this is gonna be Taco Bell, but it turned out to be an excellent spot featuring a traditional dish. We sat on the balcony overlooking the Marina and got an education on the ingredients and an explanation of tour route and stops. We then crossed the major thoroughfare and within two blocks were into neighborhoods and eatery's frequented by locals. Stops included three more taco restaurants, a taco factory, an ice cream stop, a store selling candy and spices and a tequila tasting. We were stuffed by the tour's end. Walking the neighborhoods provides a look at Cabo away from the resorts that is both fascinating and educational. I highly recommend it.
Our family of 4 2 teens, 2 adults had a great time with Izzy. He was informative and interesting. We really enjoyed the places off the tourist path- the food was delicious and we would not have found it without Juan More Taco. We loved the tacos, seafood, tortillas, and fruit pops. We would really recommend this tour in fact we have told our friends about it already!!. A great way to learn about Cabo.
Wonderful walking tour of the outskirts of the tourist area of Cabo San Lucas. Issa was a wonderful guide and full of historical tidbits about the Marina and bay areas as well as the progression of Cabo from a Tuna Cannery town to the wonderful tourist experience it is now. We loved visiting all the little hole-in-the-wall street eateries and with guidance tried taco fillings that I never would have tried. I will definitelly be ordering smoked Marlin any time it's offered. We are most interested in the history of things so the Tequila tasting area was perfect for us. I loved being shown the different stages of the process and also hearing how the tequila we know now evolved from the fermented drink the locals made to the fermented product made by the spanish to the drink we have today. we really enjoyed our tour. My only warning would be about the meeting point There are Hagan Daus stores at the main entrance and also at the marina side of the mall. We almost didn't go to the right place because we stopped as soon as we saw the ice cream store.
Was an awesome experience, definitely pace yourself and bring comfortable walking shoes. Some of the best food we have ever had. Authentic experience, leave your preconceived perceptions and American ways or wherever you are from home and enjoy their food, culture and experiences.
Loved the tour. Loved feeling like one of the locals. Loved the guide Ici ? Very knowledgable and of course loved the food
So awesome! Lots of history and great food and great guide. Only 3 of us. EeeCee was very knowledgeable about all the food and Cabo itself. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Cabo. Thanks so much!!!! 5 stars for sure!
Our trip to Cabo San Lucas wouldn't have been complete without taking the Juan More Taco Tour! It was a joy exploring the downtown area trying more than our fair share of delicious and authentic Mexican food and meeting genuinely friendly locals. Our guide Pedro was VERY kind and accommodating, consistently providing cold bottles of water, giving us ample time to eat and space to chat privately amongst ourselves, and showing us through numerous family owned and ran restaurants as well as other various shops and locations around the area.
We began by meeting outside the front of the mall and then proceeding to the first restaurant along the main street where we tried for the first time Marlin fish tacos -- absolutely delicious! Our second stop was deeper downtown at a quaint family-run restaurant where we had a hot meat broth soup and beef tacos -- so yummy! Our third stop was right along the street where a woman was selling fresh hand-made tamales -- probably the best tamales we've ever had! The fourth stop was at another restaurant where we had our favorite food of the tour, asada tacos and a basket of fresh hand-made tortilla chips with a bowl of guacomole -- everything was so good in fact we knew we had to go back the following day. The fifth spot we went was a little ice cream parlor selling the best home-made coconut ice cream among many others flavors we've ever had, no joke! The final stop was a guided tequila tour where we learned step-by-step the history behind making tequila as well as the long and hard process of going from plant in the ground to liquid in a bottle. It wrapped up with various tastings of different flavors of tequila such as chocolate and pina colada.
In total we were out and about for 2-3 hours and not every place had a bathroom, so that's something to keep in mind. All in all I'd highly recommend this tour if you want genuine taste of Mexico as well as a safe and fun walk around the downtown Cabo San Lucas area! 5/5 stars!
This was a great tour! Issi was a terrific guide he took us throughout the back streets to all the wonderful local vendors. He was very knowledgeable and passionate about his culture and food! Highly recommended. The food was amazing.
This was one of the most fun things we did while in Cabo. Issi was very likeable and easy going as our guide, we felt safe and comfortable while partaking in some excellent food and drink. I would highly recommend this food tour, Issi is great, we only wished we had booked his cooking school while there. Next time!!!
This is a really great way to see a local side of Cabo and it's food. The tour starts in the mall then quickly only goes to local restaurants and street vendors. All seemed very safe and clean. Most of these places you would never find on your own. Even if you have been to Cabo before you have probably not eaten at these places. Great food and informative guide. A fun way to have dinner by eating 8 small meals different locations.
We had a great time and went back to a few of the restaurants during our stay in Cabo. We were a group of 6 and the only people in the tour, Lorenzo our guide was a wealth of information and fun. Well worth the time and .
This tour gives you a great overview of the people of Baja. If your love authentic Mexican food this is the tour for you. You end up with plenty to eat and drink ranging from tequilla, to fish tacos, to street foods and yes can't forget desserts. I recommend doing this tour as soon as you can after arrival so you can return for more during rest of your stay.
The guide Issy or Izzy? was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took us to some excellent eating places. The only trouble was that the places were so close together that we couldn't walk off the food in between! Just kidding. I would recommend this tour to anyone who likes to try new foods.
This was a great tour! Our guide, Lorenzo, was phenomenal! The tour was in downtown Cabo San Lucas and we were taken to the less known local spots. Our first stop, we had a choice of tacos, shrimp or fish ceviche and a non-alcoholic drink. The second stop, he took us to a tamale stand wrapped in a banana leaf. Those tamales were the best we ever had! The third stop, we went to a tequila tasting. The guides were very informative and personable--treated us like family! All of the tequilas were strong except for the flavored one. At our fourth stop was a candy store where they make piñatas. We got a history lesson on that as well. On the fifth stop, we stopped at an ice cream shop michoacana where we had flavored milk fruit medley and horchata. I've always wanted to try one in the states, but was a bit leary, but glad I tried it! Our sixth stop we stopped by another taco restaurant. This placed as a variety of sauces and they wet all good, some spicier than others. Our last and final stop was an at home based restaurant ran by a married couple. We had mole not sure of the spelling, chocolate and cinnamon milk, some kind of meat and potato hash and a thorough history lesson on Mexico! This was an awesome tour and we highly recommend it. Two tips: wear walking shoes and be open minded to trying everything he offers you. Suggestion to the company: make a bigger sign for participants to know who you are before beginning the tour.
We had an amazing time on our tour. Our guides were knowledgeable, personable, and shared a lot of great local info along with some of the very best Mexican food we have ever eaten. They took great care of our kids, ages three and five, and made sure that is was a special experience for them as well. We visited several off-the-beaten-path restaurants that we never would have visited on our own, and ate some amazing stuff. The chicken mole tacos were worth the price on their own, but the whole experience was really great.
This was a fun walking trip. If you are a foodie and enjoy spending time sampling and talking with other foodies this is the trip for you. We did this at the beginning of our trip and went back to our favorite places. Our tour guide, Jesus, was knowledgable and fun to talk with.
Eric did a great job , and the food was really amazing. It was a good variety. It would have helped to have a little clearer u derstanding of all the stops before we began as it was hard to hear Eric at times. If the guide could show you a chart with the stops and choices so when you get to places you already u derstanding some of the information.
