Great, informative tour of the house - first owners and last. Our guide was wonderful - was not scripted, but very informative and just talked as if she were giving a history of her friends. This is such a beautiful place. Doesn't gloss over the horrors of slavery. You can walk the grounds at your leisure, have a mint julep, eat, etc. I'm so glad we went here.
great TOUR, great Driver. Very well organized.
Lovely tour, lovely plantation. Would have liked to learn more about the Slaves who lived there at that time.
Tour driver Brian was the highlight - very entertaining. The oak trees were beautiful and the house well presented and the guide very informative. Would have liked a bit more time there.
A visit to Oak Alley is better done by car. We spent more time getting there and back than we had on site. That's not to take away from Oak Alley. The tour of of the home is outstanding. However, there was not sufficient time to have lunch in the restaurant or tour the remainder of the grounds. I will need to go back a second time just to see the rest of the plantation.
