Very fun cooking class, We recommend it!
Very nice and accommodating. His home was very lovely and the decorations were personalized and provided a very welcoming ambience. The trip through the town to gather ingredients was charming and informative. Everyone was involved in meal preparation and the food was delicious! Chef G was awesome and very charming!
Anyone visiting Lucca who doesn't do this is missing out on the highlight of the trip to Italy! Chef Giuseppe is charming and a great guide as we wove through the tiny streets of Lucca buying goods that later became our dinner. We were treated to his favorite markets and bakeries. Cooking in a small group of 7 3 men, 4 women while sipping prosecco was a delight in his beautiful home kitchen. The dinner that was prepared was as expected a 5 star event. The surroundings of his gorgeous apartment were out of a magazine. We were treated to about 6 hours of fun and thought it was a great value for the price. We would go again. We left with a gift from Chef Giuseppe - bay leaves and a small recipe booklet.
Wonderful day! The chef was so friendly, knowledgeable and gregarious! We did a small walking tour to some very cool local shops....I got one of my best pictures of the trip in the focaccia store! The setting for the class was in his beautiful palazzo....it felt like we were walking into an architectural digest set! The little details they thought of....down to bay leaves from their personal tree wrapped to take as a souvenir- all made it special! Our group has two 13 year olds and 3 couples and everyone loved the day!
I had to talk my husband into doing this cooking class with me while we were in Lucca. We both absolutely loved it. It was worth every penny and then some. The chef did an outstanding job. We went to several local markets to buy what we needed for our meal which was cool. He took us into his beautiful home where we prepared our delicious meal. We ate the dinner at an exquisite dining table complete with wine, Expresso and lemon cello. It was a highlight of our trip. Ellen
Don't miss this!!! Chef Giuseppe is truly truly a delight! This may have been our best meal in Lucca!! : It was the perfect amount of time! We did this early in our vacation- which was great, because Giuseppe showed us his favorite bakery, bread shop and vegetable market...then we were able to enjoy those places for the rest of our vacation too!
Had a great day cooking alongside Chef Giuseppe in his lovely Tuscan home. Food was delicious. If you're looking for something different to do on vacation then this is it.
The time spent with Guiseppe was a true highlight of our two weeks in Italy. Not only was the food we shared delicious and unusual, but our time wandering around to markets and bakeries was delightful and enlightening. He is such an energetic and enthusiastic host. I learned a lot about Tuscan cuisine and hope to reproduce at least the zucchini flan made with the flowers of the zucchini. Gourmet and delicious. There were numerous courses and olive oil and cheese tasting as well. We were so glad we chose this tour with this amazing chef!
From beginning to end this cooking class was a five star experience. It was everything we expected and more! Our chef Giuseppe met us in the historic district of Lucca, explained what we could expect for the day and proceeded to take us to various local food shops to select the ingredients needed for our class and meet the shopkeepers. Learning how and where to purchase supplies was both an enjoyable and helpful experience. The welcoming ambience when we arrived at Giuseppe's home was a WOW feeling with music, table and the work stations beautifully set. We had a class of six students which was perfect as we were able to get to know each other a little as well. Everyone participated in learning how to make the various dishes. Giuseppe's instructions along the way were clear and informative including presentation of the plate. The delicious four course luncheon included all seasonal ingredients which makes it easier when deciding what to cook. A fine Proseco was popped for tasting and the event began, followed by the art of choosing the correct olive oil. Only the best will do. Local cheese and honey was then tasted and let's not forget the famous Italian focaccia. Yum! Cooking and wine go together very well, so as we prepped and cooked a fine chilled white wine was opened to enjoy by all. During the meal a local Chianti was poured and savoured. An espresso and limoncello was served after dessert to finish a wonderful afternoon of cooking and tasting. Giuseppe is a warm, gracious and generous host who clearly has a passion for cooking and teaching. We not only took home the day's wonderful memories, but also certificates of participation, recipe booklets, bay leaves from Giuseppe's garden and our aprons! Amazing! I would definitely recommend this class as part of everyone's visit to Lucca! It is worth every penny!!! We would come again!

We spent a week in Tiscany over the holidays and this class was the highlight of our entire trip! From shopping around town, to food prep, dining...Guisepe has thought of every lovely detail to make the experience special. We would do it again I and #39;m a heartbeat!
