What You Can Expect

Cooking Class in a Farmhouse in the Tuscan Hills

Begin with morning pickup at your Lucca hotel, or meet your air-conditioned vehicle near Lucca central train station. Then, travel through pretty countryside to the venue for your class, a traditional farmhouse in the Tuscan hills.

On arrival, meet your host, an expert chef with a deep knowledge of Italian cuisine, and head inside her home kitchen. Don your provided apron and discover the fresh, organic ingredients at your disposal. Head into the garden to pick aromatic herbs for the tomatoes and sauces you’ll be preparing, admiring the gorgeous views from here out over the hills and olive groves.

Back in the kitchen, prepare a main course of either tagliatelle (long, cut pasta ribbons), gnocchi (potato, flour, and egg dumplings) or ravioli (filled pasta parcels). Roll out and shape your dough under your chef’s guidance, and cook a fresh sauce to go with it.

Then, turn your hand to a classic Italian tiramisu (coffee-and-custard dessert) following your chef’s own recipe.

Lastly, savor your dishes for lunch, enjoying them with your fellow cooks and some good-quality Tuscan red wine.

Afterward, say goodbye to your chef, and return to Lucca, where your experience ends at the original departure point.
