We loved our walking/food tasting tour of Lucca. What a fabulous way to discover a city. Not only was the food great, but the stories and history told to us by our tour guide, Chiara added a whole new dimension to the tour. We would highly recommend.

We met Chiara at the train station. There were only 3 couples so that was good for a walking tour. We walked to the walls and crossed into the town, visiting a small chocolate shop where we were served caffe of our choice and some pastries. I needed to eat gluten free and they brought out a savory GF pastry just for me - how nice. We also stopped at another small shop for a snack. We had a relaxing wonderful lunch in the anfiteatro with wine. Chiara combined a walking tour with these stops for a wonderful morning tour and light lunch, and pointed out good places to eat later. We really enjoyed it.

Fabulous experience! Chiara is very personable and knowledgeable and spent more than the allotted time with us. The food and wine we tasted was excellent. Another guide, Luca, joined us part way through the tour and his experiences and knowledge were much appreciated as well. Would recommend this tour highly!

Had an awesome morning with Borana. She is very knowledgeable about local history and had some funny tidbits to share. We strolled all over the old town and she pointed out the important sites as well as little known spots. We had a delicious coffee in a tiny gem of a patisserie and later a lunch with local specialties and of course a glass of local wine! Bueno!!

Amazing tour! My family absolutely loved it, my dad even commented that it was his favorite part of the trip. You really get a good dose of history and a good taste of the foods of Lucca during this tour. And our guide was excellent and so personable!

We booked this trip at the special reduced rate for July. It was very well worth the cost as the whole experience was very enjoyable. Our guide turned up on at the old railway station which is a great place to meet. We walked the short distance into the city, whilst be regaled with stories about the city wall and the merchants of Lucca, none of which we knew before, despite several trips there. The our lovely guide, who was called Chiara, walked us all over the place whist dropping in bits of historical fact about architecture, trading, political history and best of all, the various local foods. We had a very rich breakfast in a small chocolatier with a really dinky little cafe at the back that you would not have known was here if we had not been shown. The coffee was really good and nothing was too much trouble. We then ate lunch in the amphitheatre after more educational steps. The guides English was fantastic and the atmosphere was just right on the trip not too hurried but plenty to see and take in. This is a good trip for all ages and ability but may not suit very young children. I cant recommend this trip highly enough as it was enjoyable fun, good value at the current price and most of all very tasty!

We booked this trip at the special reduced rate for July. It was well worth the cost as the whole experience was very enjoyable. We were a group of 4 and we had the whole guide to ourselves, which was great, but the groups are never very big apparently.
Our guide turned up on time at the old railway station, which is a great place to meet as there is pay as you go parking nearby.
We walked the short distance into the city, whilst be regaled from the outset with stories about the city wall and the merchants of Lucca, none of which we knew before, despite several trips there.
Then our lovely guide, who was called Chiara, walked us all over the place whilst dropping in fascinating bits of history about the architecture, trading, political history and best of all, the various local foods.
We had a very rich breakfast in a small chocolatier with a really dinky little cafe at the back, that you would not have known was here if we had not been shown it by Chiara. The coffee was really good and nothing was too much trouble for them. It was all included in the price.
The guides English was fantastic and the atmosphere was just right on the trip not too hurried but plenty to see and take in. We walked all over the city to see some interesting sights and one thing we loved was the statue of Puccini by the house he was born in. We then ate lunch in the amphitheatre with our host after more educational steps around the outside walls of this structure, which again was entertaining.
This is a good trip for all ages and ability but may not suit very young children. I cant recommend this trip highly enough as it was enjoyable fun, good value at the current price and most of all very tasty!
