Your day-trip begins at your Brussels accommodation, where you’ll board a private, air-conditioned minivan at 7:45am. During the 2.5-hour journey to Luxembourg, you’ll admire the charming Luxembourg countryside and delve into the small country’s history with your guide.
Then, on arrival at Luxembourg’s eponymous, UNESCO-listed capital, you’ll embark on a walking tour of the upper town: absorb panoramic views of the Place de la Constitution, stroll around the historical Place d’Armes, and gaze at Luxembourg City Hall, which dominates Place Guillaume II. See, too, the grand Notre Dame Cathedral and admire the opulent façade of the Palace of the Grand Dukes.
Step back in time at the Les Trois Glands, the remains of towers that marked the city’s outer boundary, and descend to the subterranean Casemates du Bock, a medieval network of passages used to fortify Luxembourg’s defences (entrance at your own expense.)
After strolling around the beautiful Barrio Grund, you’ll return to your vehicle and proceed to Bouillon, over which a 1,000-year-old feudal castle reigns supreme. Choose to purchase an audio guide and explore the castle at your own pace.
At approximately 5pm, depart from Bouillon and relax during the journey back to your Brussels accommodation.
