See, too, Avila Plaza Mayor before continuing your journey to Segovia, another fascinating city awarded World Heritage status by UNESCO.

On arrival, head straight to a local restaurant to enjoy the lunch option selected at booking. Enjoy either one typical tapa, a traditional Spanish fare, or indulge yourself with the gourmet option. All are accompanied by wine.

Not what I expected!,,

I have never been disappointed with a Viator tour until now. Hotel pick-up meant walking about 1/2 mile with tour guide. Wife having hip issues so we chose front seat of bus. Was asked to move from front seat of bus so guide could sit there—seat should have been reserved for her. At lunch, guide left our group and we were told to meet her at the cathedral. We Were on our own without a guide to interpret and make sure we were taken care of properly. The tapa lunch was one little tapa at a restaurant that only seated 12-we had about 30 people. Our guide Carolina was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. I did not realize tour was in Spanish and English and it got very tiring listening to everything repeated twice. I would never have booked a 2 language tour. I will look out for that next time I book a tour. P.S. the two UNESCO sites were wonderful.

Dear customer, we are sorry for the inconvenience caused, but the pick-up at the hotels can sometimes be a walk in your case, your hotel is not far from our office. The first seats in the bus are allways for the tour guide, because is the tour leader and needs talk by microphone, and works coordinating with the driver in this seat, it's not possible that any passenger stay in this seat. Regarding your complaint about the tapa, "Tapa" is not a lunch, is an appetizer, and this is the reason why the tour guide informed you and the rest of the passengers with the same option without lunch, that the meeting point after lunch time would be at the cathedral, (since you chose the option of no lunch), and you were given free time to have lunch on your own. If you wanted to have lunch, you might choose it when you made the reservation. Regarding the size of the restaurant, you took the TAPA that is taken in the bar area. Lunches are taken in the restaurant part. In Spain, to understand the tapas are taken at the bar, not inside the restaurant zone. This restaurant has two floors. Our tours are always in Spanish and English. Thank you very much for your opinion, we appreciate that you let us know your complaints but that you also enjoyed the tour

Avila cathedrals were lovrly. Segovia was a lot of uphill walking . Aqueduct was picturesque. Enjoyed tapas, although just one of their pick. Alcazar was a nice tour too.

Did not like the tapas .. not enough food for the price . The place had rude employees .. the tour was a lot of standing around after you ate a quick meal .. we could have made this trip a 1/2 day trip or 1/4 day trip food was definitely not good I got sick from it

The trip was wonderful...but the expensive lunch is not worth it.

I enjoyed the trip to these wonderful cities with my mother and younger brother. It was a fabulous tour that guided us through the countryside of Castile and León. Avila and Segovia had their charms and it was definitely an unforgettable experience with the exception of the lackluster meal at the restaurant Mesón El Cordero, which was the worst meal I had during my entire trip in Spain. I was expecting more food for the price that we paid. The soup was served in a shallow bowl and it had as much character as a dry sponge. The salad was a basic mix of romaine, tomatoes, sliced white onions, and a few olives in olive oil and vinegar. The biggest disappointment was the suckling pig. Granted, the pig is a suckling: it's not going to be as meaty as its fully-grown form. But you expect a bit more food that a sliver of pork. Otherwise, the trip is wonderful. The tour guide from Cordova, whose name I forgot (sorry!), was very informed and wasted little of our time in explaining the history and charm of both cities. Select this tour but skip the "gourmet lunch".

We had a splendid time during the tour. A well knowledged guide, Carmen, and a safe driver, Antonio, made it possible to enjoy and learn about the history of the 2 cities.

Disappointed with instructions

I rate Rafael a 3 because he was enthusiastic but it’s very upsetting that he did not clearly explain that our lunch (alone) time should be used to see the aqueducts. We waited around in the shops and sitting around thinking we were getting a tour of the aqueducts. When he came back he said if you wanted to see it you had time now we must move on. We would’ve climbed up and seen it but his instructions were horrible. Very disappointed actually I’m changing it to a 2.

Avila & Segovia Tour

A fun trip, well organized. For a full day tour it didn't seem that many hours, breaking up the trip in 2 separate sites worked well. Would recommend.
