Prado Museum and Madrid National Palace Guided Tour
    Viraj_C, Aug 2022
The royal palace was lovely and our tour guide Amaya was very friendly and knowledgeable. It was definitely a plus that we didn’t have to be in a line since it was very hot outside. That being said, the interior of the Prado Museum and many places in the Palace do not allow photography so if your goal is to take pictures this may not be the best booking for you.
Liked it all, but I had...

Liked it all, but I had trouble with 2 headsets. Crackling sounds. Your guide’s voice faded I and out , at times.
A lot to see at once
    NansiS, Aug 2022
Both great places and our guide was very knowledgeable and good at explaining and sharing information. Definitely take the time to go through the armory at the Palace! But be careful doing both of these together, it’s a lot! One thing though, for group tours, we had to wait for quite awhile - and even go wait in another place - for somebody who was running late. Unfortunately, waiting for one late person causes the entire group to be inconvenienced.
    Great value

Great tour and tour guide! Highly recommend!!! It’s actually 3 tours in one with a walking tour in between the Royal palace and Prada Museum!
    Not kid friendly
    Jamie_D, Aug 2022
I stopped at the national place restroom so my children could go at the end of the palace tour. The tour guide left us at the palace. After an unsuccessful attempt to find the group, we took at taxi to the Prado museum. There was no apology, and I asked for a partial refund, of which I was also denied. Obviously you are expected to stay right behind the guide or you get left. Unacceptable in my opinion especially since we had the youngest kids on the tour. To make it worse, once we got to the museum, the group was so big, you couldn’t study the art pieces he was explaining with ease. Major disappointment with this and the lack of customer service to make up for leaving me at the palace.
    Must See!

The Royal Palace and Prada Museum are must see treasures of Madrid. Would highly recommend to any traveller to Spain. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and enhanced the day in every way.

Great Tour of Palace and Prado.
    Louis_C, Jul 2022
The tour was excellent! Even though it was extremely hot in Madrid, the tour of the Palace is mostly indoors. There were ample breaks for water and restrooms. The pace of the tour was perfect for our family with young teens. Our guide Saskia was so informative and entertaining! It really brings the tour to life and makes it so much more interesting and meaningful with a great guide! The walk from the Palace to the Prado is almost a mile. Again, it was hot in Madrid when we were there, but the guide takes you on a historical and at times shaded path. But the walk is informative too! The Plaza de la Villa, Calle del Codo, Mercado de San Miguel, Plaza Mayor, Puerta del Sol, etc. are all iconic stops on the tour. The Prado was amazing. If I went in there alone, I would most likely walk around for 10 minutes and call it a day, just because I would not know or appreciate what I was looking at. Saskia did a great job of bringing the paintings to life. A great guide makes all the difference. If you took the time and effort to get to Madrid, don’t short change yourself by trying to self-guide your own tour.
    Unique experience

The tour guide Pedro had a great knowledge of the places we visit , very organized , just a thing to correct is to much walking
    Visual art feast in Madrid
    John_R, Jul 2022
The Royal Palace was over the top in grandeur - amazing. The Prado Museum was full of wonderful paintings that you see in the art books. Guide Saskia was knowledgeable and friendly throughout the dual-site tour. The skip the queue ticket is advantageous at these top attractions.
    Palace and Prada tour
    Cherie_C, Jul 2022
Although I chose to go to the palace and Pravda in one day I wouldn’t choose to do this again. The palace was lovely and enormous and the tour was good . We then as a group walked For around 45 minutes to get to the Prada. The walk was brisk and an interesting route through old areas of Madrid but by the time we reached the Prada I was tired, particularly because the walk was in 40 degree heat. One lady had dropped out and some others were also very tired. The Prada Was also enormous snd there were other tour groups there making it crowded. People say later in the afternoon and early evening are best for a visit there to avoid crowds. The guide was knowledgeable about the masterpieces in the Prada but I chose to leave early feeling I needed to walk around myself and stop and recuperate when I needed too.. If you want a tour of two very interesting places snd are happy to walk for many hours then pick this tour. If you want a more relaxed day pick one of the options eg the palace .
    Incredibly bad English and diction

Ariana was our guide as we appeared to draw the short straw. You had difficulties understanding her! We did understand her over usage of "INCREDIBLE".

    Sums up Spains history

Really provided a great perspective of history of Spain. The artwork was great. The guide explained everything in good detail.
    Good introduction to Madrid
    ChrisM_R, Jul 2022
Both the Prada and the Palace were excellent. Also includes a guided walking tour of the city because the two are about 20 mins apart.
Lo mas emblemático de Madrid con Pedro
    Cristina_G, Jul 2022

    Probably Better To DIY

Starting with the meeting point, it was definitely not clear how one could find the tour guide. Only the place was stated but not how you'd be able to identify the point person. I had to take a chance and approach a person that seemed to be the tour guide (because he was surrounded by people that seemed to be tourists) and got lucky that he was the right person. Next, the Royal Palace was closed for two days prior to my scheduled tour. As such, our tour guide said that all the tour groups were going that same morning so best for us to go to the Prado first and then the Royal Palace after. Now, this wouldn't have been an issue for me, but the thing is, the meeting point was the Royal Palace (!!!) and we had to walk 15-20 minutes to the Prado, spend 2hrs there, and walk back (!!!) to the Royal Palace and spend maybe another 2hrs there or more - I wouldn't know cos I had to cut my tour short due to a conflict in schedule since I didn't know it would take THAT long. I had to leave right after the Prado tour during the free time. Why couldn't the tour operator change the meeting point if they knew beforehand the issue with the Royal Palace? Very poor planning. As for the tour itself, I recommend going to the Prado on your own and not with a tour group, if you would prefer to pace yourself and appreciate as much of the art as your time allows. This tour goes through only the main artworks and will not give you time to look at the other works in the rooms they're in. You also only get about 20-30 minutes of free time after the tour. Our guide wasn't very lively. He'd make jokes every now and then that were funny, but because of the way he was delivering the information, I found it quite hard to keep my attention on him. Didn't help as well that he didn't seem to like what he was doing.
    Excellent
    Bhavin_D, Jul 2022
Jose Was excellent guide And we highly recommend this tour for anyone who is looking for experience that covers two of Madrid’s top attractions.
    Not the best tours
    Bonnie_K, Jul 2022
The start of our tours at both the Royal Palace and The Pado were delayed by 15-20 minutes because of unorganized groupings. People’s names were on the wrong list or not any list. There was confusion with who needed the tour in Spanish or in English. We started late but ended at the scheduled time. I have been on tours almost every day in the last 2 weeks, this was the first time I could not understand my guide and felt rushed.
    Awful experience
    Bruce_L, Jun 2022
Palace was closed because of NATO visit. We were not informed of this until the tour was starting. We took a two hour walking tour of Central Madrid with very boring information (I normally love these). Lunch break was done where your choices were fast food or Starbucks. Every meeting point was late and chaotic and we stood in the hot sun by the Prado while he added people to the tour. That started about half an hour late. I, personally, had to leave the Prado tour early because I was too worn out to continue. So I didn't see the Palace or finish the Prado. The way the description was written, I thought the walking tour was at the end and I could have just left then.
Great morning at the Prado museum and Royal Palace
    Maria_P, Jun 2022
Great guided tour. Pedro is very nice and very well prepared. It walks you also though la puerta del sol and other landmarks in Madrid’s downtown.

Skip this tour, not skip the line. Though the City & the museum was very crowded, there was absolutely no line upon entering. You could easily go to the museum on your own & use the headsets provided to guide you through the museum at a fraction of the cost of this tour. Since the palace was not open on the day of our tour, we met outside the palace & walked through the city to the El Prado. We then sat outside for about 30 minutes before entering, not sure why. By the time we entered the museum, it was exceptionally crowded, with many school & tour groups, making it difficult to actually see the artwork the guide was speaking about. Perhaps it would have been less crowded, had we actually entered when we arrived. It was overall a short tour, focusing on the more famous paintings. Fortunately, we were able to stay at the museum & explore on our own after the tour, enjoying a great lunch outside the cafe & browsing in the shop.
