This tour exceeded my expectations. Rafa was a terrific guide! He was extremely knowledgeable about the history of Madrid and Spain, showed us many sites along the way as we enjoyed tapas and drinks. The 4 course meal was delicious and filling (and was the best paella I had during my 12 days in Spain). IAccommodations were made for my vegetarian meal preference. I also met wonderful people on this tour from around the globe which was nice as I was traveling solo. I highly recommend this tour!

Daniel our tour guide was great and very informative. There was 3 of us on this tour. The places we went to for tapas and beer was good and quaint!! We walked around the city and then ended up going to a place for amazing authentic Spanish food
Would recommend this tour - well worth doing

We spent enjoyable hours learning about Madrid with humorous tales of kings and explorers. With delicious tapas and a wonderful dinner. Great local beer, wine, and sangria added a spot on evening of enjoyment. The small group allowed us to get acquainted with our tour partners. Excellent!! Tour guide very interesting and local so grew up in the city with local stories.

Danny met us promptly and led us off on a tour of Madrid that was based around its history, told wonderful stories from history and his life all linked to locations and food. The tapas were great, and we went back to some of them later on. He also recommended a number of places we did not have time to visit that evening, but which we went to alone, which meant we ate the best suckling pig ever! The evening was entertaining and enlightening and sprinkled with great food, ending with a full dinner with sangria and after dinner shots of Spanish liqueurs. Really a great night.

What an incredible Madrid experience with Daniel and Native Spanish Tapas on 12 March! Let me start by saying that as it turned out, only my wife and me were on the tour. In retrospect, it would have been easy for Daniel or Viator to have canceled the tour. But no, they honored their reservation. This speaks highly to their professionalism and commitment to customer service! hard to find in many areas today

We met Daniel at Plaza Isabela promptly at 7pm and started our 4 hour adventure into Madrid's history and wonderful food options. Daniel provided us keen insights into the city's history. He also introduced us to many incredible restaurants and tapas bars that only the locals visit! In our travel experiences, we always look for the spots the locals eat and avoid the touristy joints. A great way to learn the lay of the land is to start with a tour such as Daniel's.

What wonderful food and conversation with the locals at each stop! From the croquettes and jamon to finally the dinner, each stop was an incredible experience. At the final stop Daniel personally introduced us to the chef and she prepared us a delicious 4-5 course paella dinner that was the best we've eaten anywhere!

We left full, historically enriched, and hating to see the evening end. My wife and I have taken many walking tours in many different cities, but Daniel was the most engaging and knowledgeable we've ever encountered.

Final advice: If you plan to spend one day or several days in Madrid, start with Daniel and one of his walking history tours. It will open the city to you and provide a basis for the rest of your wanderings. A truly wonderful experience!

Wonderful tour with a great guide. Great food and it gave us a wonderful insight as to which places to return to during the day. Interesting facts and great food. Thoroughly enjoyed the tour and Rafa our guide.

The guide was entertaining and extremely knowledgeable. He was familiar with many of the owners of the shops. It was fantastic to visit the non-tourist spots. His knowledge of history of the area was phenomenal. He offered a wide variety of experiences. He spoke very clear English but could have also done it in Spanish w/o difficulty The food and drink experiences were nicely varied and plentiful. Wear comfortable shoes, you owe it to yourself so that you can enjoy every minute because it is well worth it. He can appeal to all age groups.

For the price of this tour, I thought much more food would be included. The first tapas was one croquette and a shot of wine, next was a platter of sliced ham and cheese with a glass of beer, and dinner was fairly light. First round was just chicken broth followed by a potato omelette and chorizo, with paella last. I only got a small plateful of paella as well. The tour guide was friendly but made his political leanings well known to an uncomfortable degree and it's a good thing there were no French people with us or they would have been offended. A somewhat fun night but not worth the money at all.
