This tour was chosen largely because we wanted to experience the countryside out of Madrid and also see a Spanish wine producing area. We are from a great wine producing country - Australia and have friends who own wineries on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria Australia.
Our expectations of the tour and what we experienced were vastly different. This tour consisted of visiting 3 vastly different wineries - the age of the winery, size of production, markets and objectives. That was fantastic in itself. Good explanations of the wine we tasted were given.
Our guide was from the region and that was very useful.
I would recommend this tour- it highlighted the differences between production and marketing of wines in the 2 countries and it was a great tour.
Quique was a great and knowledgeable guide. In the van between stops he was happy to chat more about Spanish wine, Spanish culture, geography... really anything! The wines were wonderful and all of the stops were very enjoyable. We bought a bottle to bring home to remember the trip. The brief stop in Segovia was nice to see the main town square and aquaduct.
We came on our honeymoon and thought that taking an all day trip out to Ribera del Duero may be too much. But it was perfect. It was a small group and the driver was very experienced in the wine industry and the 3 wineries we were taken to treated us like royalty. To boot we got a real treat as we are from south Florida and it began to snow. It was the perfect day! Highly recommend this tour.
We decided that do a vineyard tour in Ribera del Duero region and the experience exceeded our expectations. We visited three bodegas/vineyards: Dominio de Cair, Val Soltillo and Legaris. The wine was exquisite: rosé and/or white and red. The local tour was done by Gourmet Madrid and the tour guide—Jorge— was great and knowlegeable. We were able to buy wine and ship it home. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Thank you Jorge from Gourmet Madrid.
We enjoyed this tour very much. Our guide Jorge did an excellent job. He was very knowledgeable about the wine and the region. The wine tasted were all of high quality and the Vineyards visited were very nice. I would do this tour again and recommend it to others.
