If you plan to visit this Royal Palace of Madrid, a guided tour is must, otherwise there is no point. Guide was extremely good and made the tour memorable.

This was a fabulous experience and you should add to your must-sees while in Madrid. Our tour was finishing when the Royal Palace was opening, and it was great to have an informed tour guide during a quieter time.

You should definitely go early, the ticket line by 900 AM, was very long.
Great guide.

Amazing! We were in before the public and it was a totally different experience seeing the palace in peace and without noise and stuff!
Tour guide was great and this is highly recommended!

This is an amazing building, and this tour lets you in before the general public. We moved freely between the beautiful rooms and our guide Rocia was terrific. She has a good manner and provided an excellent description of the palace. This is the best way to see the palace.

If I could give more stars I would. We went at the best time, 9am, because later, the Palace is so crowded, you can't really enjoy the tour. The Palace itself is so amazing with the art, statues, painting on the frescoes, and gold, it is the best tour to me. Also, our guide, Barbara, was exceptionally informative, and kept the perfect pace, as she guided us through the 30 rooms of the tour.

This tour was well worth doing as you have the chance to visit the rooms before everything was opened to the public. We had a young and very animated guide who made the history of the palace come alive. She was great and definitely knew her stuff. The use of headphones so you could clearly hear what she was saying was very effective.

This was a time effective way to see the Royal Palace and absolutely worth the extra to skip the line and get in an hour early before the heat of the day go too much. The queue as we left was massive so it was great to have avoided that. The Palace is stunning. Don't miss the Armoury!!! Incredible collection of jousting equipment, suits of armour and horse armour

We had a great guide and hence a great tour. The 90 minute tour was the right amount of time with lots of detailed information and great sights. You can only take photos in the entrance not in the royal rooms of the royal palace. Taking a guided tour enhanced our experience of our visit to Madrid.

Fast paced and sufficient for palace enthusiasts like us. Worth the early rise and extra money. The lines outside were ridiculous. Do it!

The experience itself was smooth enough-the tour operator was easy to locate, easy to retrieve the tickets. The tour guide herself was mediocre-it seemed a lot of the information she recited could have been just read from the signs posted. The palace was neat to see and I enjoyed mentally doing the comparison to Versailles and Schonbrunn palaces I've also seen-this imo was the least cared for...but they do have a really interesting armory exhibit which I didn't see at the other palaces. Definitely a worthwhile tour.

This was a nice tour. Palace has close to 3,000 rooms but you only get to see 20 of them but they are spectacular. Be sure and go visit the armory when you are done. They have a room full of life sized horses wearing battle armor, have never seen anything like that.

The trip started at 9am and not 8:45am as advertised. The tour itself is well worth it and it felt that we had the palace almost to ourselves. It's a shame that the tour was bi-lingual, but tried to make the best of it and learn a little bit of Spanish

The palace was beautiful and getting in early before the crowds was great, but we were somewhat disappointed with the tour itself. Meeting at Julia Travel to find our guide was somewhat disorganized, with several groups - all setting out for different places - meeting and leaving at the same time. There were 10 people on our tour, which was given in both English and Spanish. Eight of us were there for the English commentary, and two for the Spanish. Our guide whose name we did not catch was not very welcoming or friendly. She was also hard to understand because of her strong Spanish accent and we missed a lot of what she said. She spent considerably more time conversing in Spanish to the two Spanish-speaking members of the group than to the eight others. There was also a guide trainee who accompanied us. She spoke very good English with little trace of an accent but she unfortunately could not take an active role in the tour, only helping with logistics.

A great way to see the palace early in the day before it is open to general admission. Our guide was knowledgable and her English was good. But we were rushed in some of the rooms so that we could not spend the time looking at the displays that we wanted to.

Ok ......BUT.....we were almost hounded around by a following tour, which was a big group and quite loud! Our guide should have let them pass, otherwise no point in going early!
Our guide was very nice but her English was poor. A shame that there is not an option of an English only tour with a fluent speaker as nearly all those on our trip were native English speakers. She did not tell us anything more than we could read on the information in each room.

I needed to move this tour. The people there wouldn't even discuss it. Told me to contact the place I bought it. Ended up not going and wasting my money on the trip.
