A great experience with breathtaking views
LeifArne_K, Jan 2023
We were picked up as planned from the bus stop centrally in Malaga, and enjoyed a scenic bus trip with a stop in the village of Ardales on the way to Caminito del Rey. The final part of the drive to the starting point was especially interesting, on an extremly narrow road with some very tight turns - hats off the to the bus driver for managing that with such a large vehicle. At the time of our tour, parts of the trail at Caminito del Rey was closed due to rock slides, and we would therefore both enter and exit through the gates near El Chorro. The tour was still very enjoyable, and we would love to come back at a later date and see the parts of the trail that was sadly not available during our visit. The attention to detail and, not least, security was reassuring, and our guide Pablo gave us a very interesting tour with many interesting bits of information about the area and why the trail was originally constructed. The trail itself is moderately challenging, with some elevation to climb and quite a few stairs. If you have a fear of heights, this tour is not for you - but it is very safe, with safety railings and handholds all over. The staff is also very attentive and ready to assist if anyone experiences any issues. We made our visit in early January, when temperatures were around 15-20C. Doing the trail would certainly be more challenging in the scorching summer months, so if you come in the summer make sure to bring plenty of water. There are no options to purchase anything on the trail itself, so make sure to bring a backpack or similar to carry any supplies you need.
A Must Do

Absolutely wonderful. Our guide was excellent, making sure that two old slow coaches like us were managing. Transport from Malaga and back also seemlees with really good guide and driver.
never book with VIATOR. did not work 2x
Pascal_Z, Dec 2022
Did not happen. We stayed 2 times early in the morning at pick up place but never worked. NEVER book with Viator, loosing energy and time, very bad service and no close connection to tour operators. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE

Beware of the “guide” . Only 2h30 hours out of 9 hours worth while.
Paulo_L, Dec 2022
Excelente guide in the 2h30 Hours in Caminito del Rey and the worst guide in the other 6h30 hours of the trip. Pick up in Malaga at 8h55 and arrival at Malaga at 17h45. In Caminito we were separated in groups according to the selected languages . The last group departed 30m afternthe first, so we had less 30m to eat something before the bus departed. On the way back we traveled through Costa Del Sol for almost 3hours which is not clear in Viator agenda for the day. We had the worst “guide “ ever. A guy named Miguel who spoke various languages but when asked something did not answer and even was rude with the customers turning his back. I thing his company is called Costa de Africa. I suggest Viator and Julia Travel to hire a robot with language skills. At least we can teach some politenesse to a robot
Awful organisation
Wayne_O, Nov 2022
I arrived at the stated time of 10am and there were approximately 9 or 10 other people there. Apparently the stated time wasn't the actual time and we missed the tour by 2 hours. I had sent a message the previous day after realising it was required to reconfirm (after my money was taken i had assumed it was confirmation enough) and didn't hear anything back. I still have heard nothing. Very disappointing and very disorganised
Changed the departure time without telling anyone
Maurice_d, Nov 2022
They changed the departure time from 10:00 to 09:00 without messaging anyone. So i stood there with 4 other people without any guide showing up
Great day
Lorraine_C, Nov 2022
Great day out..only downside was we could not get fresh food beforehand as it was so early..food at the 2 stops I wouldn't like... Thought we'd get maybe bacon or fried egg toast or chips but only ham rolls ..didn't look too good & alot left behind by others..so bring food with you..saw one of the people with lovely tub of salad that they made.. great idea..toilets at first stop and again at your entrance which was great.. would love to have had time to visit the village but toilet queues took up the time we had..guide excellent and an incredible day had by all..
Very bad experience
Sherry_L, Nov 2022
We were not able to do this trip because we were not informed of a time change. Viator in Spain uses Julia travel and they change times and cancel trips without notice. Our trip was scheduled for 10 AM and when we showed we called and were told it had been changed to 9 am and we missed it Our tickets said 10 am and we were told that we were supposed to call 24 hours in advance. We did not even down load and print our tickets at that point. If they are going to change times then they need to text people. We lost our money and did not get to do the trip VERY disappointed!!
Another $100 cad stolen by viator/tour operator
Brother_j, Nov 2022
Another no show from a viator booked adventure. Try contacting them for a refund.... yeah that's easy. Me and another customer got screwed. Our tickets said 10 am. Called tour operator, they said it starts at 9, we should have got an email. My last time booking through this app . $150 Cad for 2 tours that didn't happen. I'm going to Google local tour operators and book myself. No more $ from me .
Amazing experience
ANDREEA_L, Oct 2022
The trip was great! We left at 10 AM from Malaga by bus, we stopped for an hour in Ardales, a nice little quaint village where we were able to eat some brunch and prepare for the trip, and then we went with a huge group. The view was amazing!! the bridge is majestic and the gorges are really intimidating, but in a very good way. The organisers were spot on, the trip went great. Beware however: at the entry of the National park: there is a tunnel. In that tunnel, pick-pocketers are always present. We caught 2, while they tried opening a man’s backpack (the man was from our group). The way they operate: these 2 women were obviously not with our group, they infiltrated in our group, they had their phones’ light turned on, and they were pretending to be filming, but this was a diversion, as the light was too strong for us to see that their hands were trying to open backpacks. But, the tour operators warned us about them. So: beware! I do recommend visiting this area, it is amazing! 2 hours of continuous walking, no climbing, wear comfy shoes, but NOT sandals. Trekking shoes are not mandatory, gym/running shoes also work, but there is a lot of dust in some areas, and your shoes will come out very dusty.
Great walk

It's direct from malaga but not direct coming back. It took 4 hours to drop off at hotels on Costa del sol

Really great day trip
Mark_B, Oct 2022
Really great tour. Well organized. Could have had better communication on front end. They kept saying to contact the office to confirm pick up location, we were on a cruise ship. Not easy to connect.
Amazing hike
Victor_Y, Sep 2022
The most amazing hike I have ever done. The guides add great background during the trek; history, wildlife, fauna, etc. our guide (Juan?) did a great job keeping our group of about 30 engaged throughout. The hike itself, while not difficult, takes time. Mostly because there are 1000 photo opportunities. The views are spectacular!!!! The que to get into the park was a bit tedious but it is a popular tour. If you are not fond of heights, this may not be for you.

Rosie was an amazing guide very friendly. The tour guide at Caminito del Rey was also very good, he was so funny which made the experience entertaining.

great hike, definitely worth having a guide from a historical standpoint
starla_w, Aug 2022
great hike! the tour guide was super knowledgeable and gave thoughtful insight into the area that I wouldn't have had otherwise, would do this again, and take friends and family.
Beautiful!
Marnix_C, Jul 2022
Very nice and we'll put together guided tour, from the bus drive there to the walk itself! Overall great experience and beautiful scenery which I would definitely recommend if you're near malaga!
Amazing
Jennifer_D, Jul 2022
The views were amazing. It was a long hot hike, but well worth it. Our tour guide was lively and fun. The beginning was off to a slow start, and there were more people then I would have preferred, but they took us in groups and once we were on our way it wasn’t crowded at all. We enjoyed the day and would recommend this to a friend.
Crowded.
GlennM_M, Jul 2022
Waiting in a queue for a half hour to start the hike on an absolutely packed route. Bring more water than you think you’ll need.

A Memorable Experience
Antonio_B, Jun 2022
I was amazed by this experience. I have a bit of a fear of heights and it was great to be able to challenge it. On our way to Caminto Del Rey, we stopped in Ardales and had fun talking with local people and having authentic Queso de Cabra. Both of our guides were great, Rosi from the pick up to Caminto Del Rey and Marsello through the Caminto Del Rey. I love history and enjoyed being able to learn about how it was made and the bravery of the people who created it.
