The experience was great. There was a little confusion at first on where to get picked up, but we resolved that the day prior to departure. The staff were professional, fun, and very helpful. I loved the spice markets, the opportunity to buy crafts, and the camel ride. The lunch was very good, especially since they were able to provide me a vegetarian meal without notice. I would highly recommend this tour.
It turned out to be even more fascinating than we anticipated. The lunch with the musicians
were an unexpected enjoyment. We would not have missed this tour for anything. Thanks
again to the great staff.
The trip was a wonderful whirlwind. The charter bus came and picked us up at our hotel exactly on time. Passing through passport security en route was a little exhausting but to be expected. We experienced Morocco in all it's colorful glory, had a wonderful meal and made our way back to Spain. Jean Pierre did a great job for us. Would do it again.
This was an incredible day trip. The highlight was the optional camel ride, which was two Euros each, and the wonderful lunch prepared for us. Our tour guide, Hassan, was amazing, very informative, friendly and fluent in several languages. Keep in mind, the trip is wonderful and you see a lot in one short day. The only negative is the stop at a carpet shop, with quite a high pressure sales pitch. Quite honestly, nobody was interested in carpets and that wasted time for us. We would have liked a bit of time to bargain with the locals, but were only able to do so as we walked to and from the bus. I do highly recommend this day trip - if nothing else, you can say you went to Africa!

A really enjoyable day, and was as represented by Viator's website. As we wanted a relatively stress-free way to do a quick 1-day tour of Morocco while my wife and I were in southern Spain, this tour clearly satisfied our desire. Upon it's conclusion late last night, we both agreed we were glad we did this tour. We also recognize this tour is not for everyone, as it's a very long day our Julia Travel bus departed Malaga 5:30am and did not return us to same location until after 11:00pm last night, involves lots of waiting in lines to board the ferry and satisfy police / customs requirements, and exposes the tour participants at times to pushy vendors. Compliments to Julia Travel for being well-organized and providing guidance and leading the large group around without losing anyone. We saw lots of interesting sites, and we were surprised that the lunch was better than expected. We felt safe at all times throughout the tour.
Moroccan dream: camel ride, typical market, Hercules' cave, tasty couscous and lovely guide!
This was an amazing trip once you get there. I think we had an off day on the ferry that wasn't fun as we stood in line the entire ride waiting for 1 policeman that was checking each passport the guide said there are usually 5. Once we got there we boarded nice tour buses and our guide was excellent. You got to see the modern part of town, different areas along the coast, the point where the Mediterranean sea meets the Atlantic ocean, the Hercules caves find a local in the caves that will show you great spots for photos and things to see and yes they expect a little compensation but it's well worth it and the Casbah. The lunch was wonderful including the live music. It's a great way to see Morocco in 1 day.
This is a great, well-organized tour for someone who wants to get a quick taste of Morocco. We got an overview of Tangier from the comfort of a modern, air-conditioned coach, saw Hercules caves and some awesome beaches and visited the old center. A really pleasant lunch was included. It is, however, a very long day, starting at 5.30 in the morning and ending at 11pm at night. The drive to the ferry at Tarifa from Malaga is two hours. Custom queues are long and you spend a lot of time queuing to get on and off the boat. Your patience is well rewarded.
Wonderful experience, quick and fun trip that gives a great taste of Morocco for those who only have time for a day trip. The Moroccans that we came across were lovely, and the food at the restaurant we visited was great but not vegan friendly. I wish they would skip the rug store... many other reviewers have said that they would rather do without it as well. I would have preferred more time to shop...

This was a great day out. Its a long day, especially if you start in Malaga, when you check in 24 / 38 hours before ask to be picked up from your hotel or the nearest junction, we did and saved a 0445 start and caught the buss at 0650. The journey to Tangiers is about 3 ½ hrs inc a ferry ride. The tour around Tangiers is by buss and on foot and very interesting on both accounts. Well worth the money and a great day out.
From the communication prior to the trip, to the Pickup, to the bus trip to the port, all was very smooth effieient clean. The loading/unloading on the ferry was as smooth as can be expected with various bus loads, car and walkons. The very interesting part of the trip was as soon as we arrived in North Africa, WoW, the hustle the bustle, the various people you meet, the various people who hound you, all part of the experience. The restaurant was excellent, food was great, the staff were helpful when needed. The Guides were also very knoweledgeable The Carpet store and Spice store visits were fun we bought a carpet, it helps to have done various tours in the past, you understand the 'dance' between you the customer and the tour guides/tour company, people complain about the forced 'shows', but I think it is all part of the package. Take the tour you will enjoy it!
The trip was quite long from Malaga but it was well organized and our guide Rafael was patient and very helpful.
The tour around the city was brief but precise. Lunch was good. We ordered an extra dish of tagine for €8 which was the best lamb dish I have ever tasted.!
Shopping fun but haggle!
The trip was very good and a wonderful opportunity to visit Morocco for a day only. It is a long bus ride, but the travel was comfortable. The lunch was very well organised and I enjoyed to be able to try local food. All tour in the old city was not the best but from what i hear it should be always like that in all northern African countries.
I was unable to go on the trip, however the bus driver and the company itself were very understanding and prompt in returning my money. They were extremely supportive and efficient!
A great way to get a 'flavour' of Tangier. We travelled from Malaga and all of the coach pick up arrangements worked perfectly. We had a great driver and guide. The trip, by ferry from Tarifa, was very well organised and our guide thoroughly explained all of the visa details.
In Tangier we met our local guide who was extremely knowledgeable. We drive through the various quarters of Tangier before stopping at a picturesque view point afterwards some of our group had short camel rides. Then we went into the old town for a short walking tour and lunch which was accompanied by Moroccan musicians. Thereafter we visited the artisan craft store and the homeopathy store: at these places the local vendors explained their wares.
There are some points to note: you will be constantly surrounded by locals who want you to buy things. Don't be offended by this this grafting is how some people in Tangier have to live and we tourists are their main market. Be prepared to haggle and be prepared to say no if you don't want something - I found that the Spanish phrase 'No quiero, gracias' worked quite well. Also you may feel something of a 'hard sell' at the artisan store again you are going to get a flavour of a particular culture so don't be too judgemental of this approach. We didn't buy a carpet and the fact that you have no guide price for beginning negotiation is a little off putting, but again note my previous comment.
A further couple of points to note about the journey: you don't get a huge a mount of time in Tangier and it is a very full itinerary. I found that it was just right for me and gave a great overview and I would like to visit Tangier again because of the good experience. Also if you are on the coach all the way from Malaga it will seem like a long day, particularly if there are multiple pick ups on the way, but the scenery is great and the guide will give you a relaxed overview of the sights along the way.
Overall I would say go and experience a flavour of Tangier. The day trip won't mean you know everything there is to know about this fascinating city, but it will whet your appetite.

Even though it was semi-difficult to determine where we were meeting the tour group and other members of the same tour had free hotel pickup and drop off this was a very nice tour. We spent ten days traveling through Morocco including Rabat, Casablanca, and Marrakech and got more in depth information on the culture and customs of Morocco from this trip in one day than we did in the previous ten days. I would have appreciated it if they would have made the pick-up process a bit easier but overall this tour was an excellent value for the price and would highly recommend it.
Loved this trip to Morocco! We stayed at the beautiful AC Marriott and took a cab from there in the morning to the meeting place where there were several others waiting and we walked back to the hotel at the end of our tour. I was traveling with my in-shape 80 year old mother and the day was perfect for her in terms of getting around. As others mentioned in their reviews, the bus ride was long, but it was wonderful seeing the countryside along the way! The ride back was much shorter as we were not waiting for anyone and the bus driver was extremely safe. The ferry ride was fun and the bus in Morocco was a nice bus. The Moroccan guide was awesome, lunch was tasty and the musicians in the restaurant added to the authenticity of the experience! Loved the market and especially the carpet emporium which had a lot of other items to shop for as well. The people were knowledgeable and non pressure for sales although we did purchase two carpets and a large vase! The communication from the store has been good since we have returned home and the vase is already arrived in less than one month's time. I purchased Moroccan money before leaving the US but everyone there accepts dollars or euro. I definitely recommend this Morocco experience. My favorite part was the Moroccan guide and the Moroccan people we met. They are all so wonderful!!!
Great experience, especially for someone like me, who hadn't been to Africa or to the Arab world before. On the way home you were just left wishing you had spent more time there. While being an important part of the experience, the most significant thing on the downside would be the very pushy salesmen. Don't be rude to them, though, and if you want to buy, remember that they will accept a price way lower than what they initially suggest!
The Tour from Malaga to Morocco is worted!!! if You want to experience the Highlight of other Culture and the exitmen of passing through the Gibraltar Straight in the Ferry. They pick up every passenger at they're Hotel early in the morning it take a while to pick every body along the way and the same in the way back. The only bad situation is the Tour guide Was not very nice explaining and sore of rude, but the one that We had in Morocco save the day!!! and the visit to various places and the lunch it was different but good, musicians where at the Restaurant to entretain. Beautiful sightseeing and views along the coast of the Mediterranean where meet with the Atlantic, We visit the Hercules caves a beautiful sight and then along the way stop for a Camel ride and view the different Palacetes along the way., I highly recommended the Tour, be ready with comfortable shoes and cloth, tour is from aprox 6am till 10 to 11pm depend where You're hotel.
A must do!!! Both of our tour guides were great. My only negative is that the tour doesn't give you time to stop by the local markets. You are taken to specific locations that doesn't include stopping at the local markets. The tour is fast pace but a must do none the less. You must keep up and pay attention to your guide.
This tour is perfect to learn about other cultures, explore Tangier in one day, and be adventurous. I highly recommend it if you are open-minded!
Quite an overwhelming experience. But a fun one. Encredibly cultural. They take you to places you would never have gone by yourself. So you can really experience the culture deep inside. Absolutely loved morocco. Inspired me to do more travelling around the country.
Excellent tour and glimpse of Morocco. Our tours guides were fantastic, wonderful, and knowledgeable.
Great tour, the guides were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this tour, well worth the money!
