This tour wasn't so great. We weren't even given any headsets. The island was pretty but we didn't get to enjoy it as much as we would have liked. The cathedral was massive and glorious as we rode by, and that section looked really nice to visit. We wanted to spend some time at a beach which was not communicated clearly by our driver when we asked. He mentioned it would take another hour/or taxi to get to. When we figured it out, all you have to do is get off by the cathedral and then walk for about fifteen minutes to a beach. Not sure why the driver couldn't tell us this. It was a bit disappointing when you only have a certain amount of time from a cruise. Getting back from the beach to the ship in a taxi was 10 euros, so that wasn't too bad. If you have time, get back on the hop on bus to take you back to the ship which we would have done if we things turned out better. We also found out that Cala Mayor beach is beautiful, that is the one you would need a public bus or taxi to get to on your own. Try to make the most of your day so you can enjoy it to the fullest. It is a pretty island!
No explanation of where to get the ticket except the address which turned ou to be a portable street stand hidden in a huge crowd. That address was said to be short walk from end of pier but we docked at different pier 4 km away and finally had to pay 15 EU for taxi. Bus people were surly and unhelpful. Buses left only half full with 40-50 people still in line. Total disaster. More like stealing you money. Don’t do this tour
The driver was racing through the town. The head sets were very hard to hear through. The audio was mostly tourist music. Need to be more accessible to cruise ships. Was expensive to travel to their main location to pick-up our tickets.
We tried to use that bus on 5/11 and the experience was horrible... After an hour wait the bus (license plates 3228 JRG) appeared, at that point there were about 30 people waiting on Stop # 13. There were a few available seats on the bus, but bus driver refused us to use them and forced us to leave the bus with explanation that he had "to leave space for next stops". Overall our experience was terrible and I'd not recommend to use Hop On Hop Off bus in Palma.
We bought tickets on Viator. We had to walk nearly 50 minutes to get to the first stop to catch the bus. We got off halfway through the route. When we tried to get back on, we had to line up behind people who were buying first time tickets at the bus stop. Having a ticket in hand does not give you any priority to get back on. And they would not let everyone on the bus because they said they needed to leave open seats for people to get on at the next stop. So they made us wait for the next bus, which is another 15 minutes and no guarantee you will get on. We had to walk 1 hour and 20 minutes back to our ship. Don’t waste your time or money on this one.
Bus stop closest to dock was not as far as previous post suggested. The whole tour is about 1.5 hours. Yet the bus stops at one particular area for 20-30 minutes. So whole tour approximately 2 hours. Castle option was great because the views of Palma de Mallorca were amazing from the top of the castle.
