What You Can Expect

Comino Blue Lagoon Full Day Cruise Tour

Blue Lagoon

Your tour begins with pickup from your Malta hotel and a transfer to Sliema cruise port in time for a 10am departure. After meeting your captain and crew, hop aboard your cruise ship and set sail around the island’s beautiful beaches and bays.

On the journey to Comino Island, pass by St. Julians, St. Andrews, and Salina Bay, and enjoy views of St. Paul's island, where St. Paul was shipwrecked in 60 A.D. Arrive at Comino Island in time for lunch and work up an appetite swimming and snorkeling in the glittering waters of the Blue Lagoon. You’ll also have the option to take a 25-minute cruise (extra cost; tickets sold on board) to explore the caves around the lagoon. Back on the boat, tuck into a delicious buffet lunch and sip a glass of wine as you gaze out from deck.

After more swimming and sunbathing, set out on the return journey and arrive back in Sliema around 5.30pm (summer) or 4.30pm (winter), where a driver will be waiting to take you back to your hotel.

Everything was great. The driver was a little late picking up the people who were waiting and pickup was not exactly where it was supposed to be In front of the Phoenician Hotel...fortunately somebody saw a bus at the end of the street and went to find out if it was the right one...It was. getting on the boat was kind of chaotic. Then the trip ended up being around the whole island and ended up at Comino. The atmosphere was party like and everybody from the crew to the clientele was great. The drinks were plentiful, the food was filling and the time spent at the Blue Lagoon was also more than enough for exploring and snorkeling. I highly recommend it, but encourage anyone taking this tour to be patient, kick back and enjoy the chaos. Met some fine people on the boat too.

A gorgeous day! The sea was like a mill pond and it was nice to be part of a multi cultural experience of different nationalities enjoying the same space together. The trip was great value for money it included hotel pick up/drop off, return boat ride, lunch and unlimited beer/wine/soft drinks. The scenery was to die for. You won't be disappointed!

Absolutely stunning location and the water is really as blue as the photos! I would give the trip 5 stars if based on location alone as it is really beautiful. The downside is that the photos do not show just how crowded the place is. Hardly any beach to speak of so we took a small boat across the lagoon for an extra charge to a small sandy beach which was much less crowded 5 euros each. Most of the lagoon consists of rocks with deep water to plunge into which is great but not for the kids. The main beach area where most people congregated is tiny and there was a lot of litter.

Now for the trip itself which was run by Captain Morgan cruises. The journey was fine and pleasant enough. The boat, however, was very crowded and it was very difficult to push through everyone to get to the toilets or to the bar. The free drinks were fine : water, wine, lager and cola. Everything else had to be paid for. The vending machine was out of order. The lunch was very bad so if I were to return I wouldn't waste precious time in the queue for that. You have to eat lunch before disembarking. On offer was ham, iceberg lettuce, tomatoes , pasta with tomato puree on and dry bread. For dessert you could take an orange but these were all dried out inside. I had anticipated this and had taken a packed lunch. I had seen a brochure while on holiday with Captain Morgan cruises in it and the lunch certainly wasn't as portrayed in the photo where there were lovely cut tomatoes and radishes.
Despite the poor food the trip was worth the money and I would go back.
Another thing which might disappoint is that there is no swimming of the boat as advertised. Some of the other tour boats had ladders into the water but not this one. This wasn't an issue for us but felt it worth mentioning.

This was a great tour, really nice boat trip to see Comino, there's an option on the boat to take a seperate speed boat and go and see the caves. The boat drops some people off at Gozo first, the bay there is really pretty too so you can see that from the boat. then you are dropped at Comino, but first have lunch on the boat - really simple cold pasta, some salads etc. but there are food and drink stalls on Comino itself so if you don't fancy the boat food you won't starve. You have a good 4 hours at least, on Comino before you leave again. If you're visiting Malta I'd say this is a must-do and really good value for money :

A great day out, although overcrowding and disorderly behaviour on board the rather tired boat detracted from the experience. It should also be noted that the cruise operator is Captain Morgan this is not listed in the tour information. The Blue Lagoon itself is extraordinary but in July and, one expects, throughout the summer grossly overcrowded. The Comino Hotel in the next cove is a nice escape, and for just 15 one can rent a shaded deck chair either by the private pool or on the beach: highly recommended.
