Following pickup from your Malta hotel, you’ll travel by climate-controlled vehicle to an area known as the ‘three villages.’ On route, your guides, two actors who appeared in Game of Thrones, will share stories about their time on set.
Visit the Presidential Palace and stretch your legs on an amble through the King’s Landing gardens. Take a look at the Tower of the Hand, where the so-called Hand of the King resides, and have your camera ready for Maegor's Holdfast, a fortress used during the filming of the Battle of the Blackwater.
Back in the comfort of your vehicle, you’ll meander along backcountry roads to the Shadow Cliffs to gaze out over the desert-like terrain of Red Waste. After hearing tales of dragons that were born there, venture northward to an interesting hamlet better known as Lhazar village. Continue to the medieval city of Mdina to enjoy lunch (own expense.)
In the afternoon, your Game of Thrones tour of Mdina begins. Here, you’ll discover key locations such as the yard of Tobho Mott, the Baelish Brothel, King’s Gate, and Coppersmith’s Wynd Cobbler's Square.
From Mdina, travel to Rabat and check out a monastery there—just one of the settings of the famous Red Keep fortress. You full-day tour then finishes with a hotel drop-off in the early evening.
From start to finish, this was a superb trip. We were collected from near the ferry terminal as we were staying in Gozo and the directions and timings given before the tour were spot on! The transport was air conditioned and welcome relief from the heat of Malta and the tour was well-planned so you weren't in direct sun during hottest hours. Malcolm, the tour guide, had excellent inside knowledge of Game of Thrones and great film industry based perspective as well as being a spectacular historian to boot! Well worth every cent/penny paid! Highly recommend to all.
Thank you for taking the tour and for your kind review. Logistics are very difficult to manage here in Summer because of the many road works, lots more people commuting to the beach and inevitable heavy traffic.
We try to make it all work like a swiss watch and are very pleased when all goes according to plan.
Many thanks for everything.
it was excellent!, the description of each of the film site were really good with stories about the filming process with each. the tour coved almost all of the site used minus the azure window because tis not there any more and its in Gozo, but also includes sites form gladiator and Popeye. I enjoyed the stories about each of the location the best, wont spoil but some of them down right hilarious. I would definitely recommend this tour to any GOT fan.
A must for GOT fans, Malcolm navigates you through many locations in Malta, it’s an informative, fun and eye opening tour where you learn about the filming industry aswell as visit stunning locations. You definitely get your monies worth. I would recommend this tour even if you’re not a fan. Malcolm is a brilliant and dedicated guide whose passion and knowledge shines. Thank you for giving my sister a birthday shout out too!
Fantastic tour with a very knowledgeable guide. This is a must-do tour for GOT fans. Malcolm (who played the part of a Dothraki) took us on an intriguing tour of Malta. His knowledge not just of the filming of GOT but the history of Malta was extensive. Malcolm was an Assistant Director for some of the Season 1 filming so it was really interesting to learn about the different things that happened on set. I'm still talking about the tour even now after returning home. Highly recommended.
Love the whole tour, malcolm was an amazing tour guide, he not only talked us about the games of thrones insiders, he went further telling us about a little bit of history of Malta and other films that were located in Malta, we also had an lunch in a nice restaurant with an amazing view
Game of Thrones Filming Locations Tour in Malta, 6th July, 2019

We have some confusion on the pick-up point, there's no effort from local operator to advise us (either call or SMS) to join them. We missed the tour and provided us no option to catch-up and join the tour latter time of the day. Very poor customer service orientation.
The following is what happened which you know very well but it is fair that our readers know as well.
1. We informed you when you booked, in writing, about your pick up point, which was the last pick up before the tour started
2. We even took the trouble of sending you coordinates and a photo of the meeting point.
3. We arrived at the meeting point on time.
4. You were not there.
5. We kept a coach full of guests waiting for 20 minutes hoping you would show up.
6. In the meantime we tried calling you several times but your mobile was switched off.
7. You never showed up and your mobile remained off.
8. The tour started (20 minutes late!) and I put my mobile on silent to focus on the guests who did show up.
9. Forty Five minutes after the tour had started your hotel receptionist tries to contact me.
10. I was midway through my tour orating as I do and my cell phone was on silent so could neither hear nor take the call.
11. I eventually found the missed calls at a later location by which time it was too late for you to join the tour as we had already left your area and we were half way through to the other side of the island.
12. You kept nonetheless insisting that we come back to pick you up from the original pick up spot and I told you that we could not oblige as it would mean that we would not cover the planned itinerary in time.
13. It would have been extremely unfair to ruin the day for all the remaining guests that had the decency to be at their pick up point on time just because you decided to sleep in later on the day.
I am sorry you did not join the tour and even sorrier that we got our first one star in 5 years but it was not due to our lack of customer skills but due to your selfishness.
Nonetheless, I hope you had a pleasant stay in Malta and I wish you well.
Malcolm is the perfect guide: knowlegeable, involved and funny. He has the real experience of film making and many anecdotes on GoT. A perfect day in every respect including the superlative driving of Emilio !!
Thank you for taking the tour and for your kind recommendation.
Yes, we do try and make it a memorable expereince for all those who join us and super glad we delivered to expectations.
This tour is GOT and more. Our guide (Malcomb) was a cast member in GOT (as well as holding other positions within the filming). He had extensive film industry experience and knew about other films which had been filmed in Malta (the "Mediterranean Hollywood"). He had details and pictures from the filming in Malta, surrounding locations and background information that was very interesting. He was a great guide, speaker, was humorous and made the entire day well worth the price of the ticket!
Super grateful for having the pleasure to meet you and for posting this lovely review. Glad you were entertained and this really motivates us to keep delivering quality tours.
