Average food tour - engaging tour guide

Average food tour but fabulous tour guide. Nick has a quirky sense of humour and is an excellent story teller which kept us highly engaged. Food wise - was expecting better quality and larger quantity of food for the price paid and considering it’s a food tour. We started off with a ricotta cheese pastizz at Gifen Snack Bar (average pastizz - had better ones from Sphinx Pastizzeria in Sliema), then a Maltese Ftira biz-Zejt (tuna, mixed salad, tomato paste sandwich) with a drink (Kinnie / beer / water). We then went to King’s Own Band Club Restaurant for Maltese platter, braised rabbit and a glass of wine. The portion of braised rabbit was surprisingly very small (10% of what you get if you ordered a normal portion from any Maltese restaurant). We finished off with a chocolate liqueur and chocolate tasting at the Chocolate District. Would have been nice to finish off with a Maltese dessert such as Imqaret - a date filled pastry (read in reviews that we were meant to have this so surprised we ended up not having it). Overall would prefer the sandwich stop to be replaced with something else as it does fill you up (wasn’t expecting to pay for a food tour and get stuffed with sandwich).

We use a variety of venues and the food is not always the same however we have had comments in the past that there was too much food and so we always endeavour to balance out all comments. Absolutely fabulous tour with Daniela, she was so knowledgeable about all the different places we went and about the food we tried. She also gave us little extra bit of info as we were walking around. Have already told my parents the should book when they next visit

Fun food and history tour

The tour gave us a nice sampling of the typical foods of Malta. To me, the most interesting parts of the tour were the many historical details our guide provided. If you want to know more about Malta, this is a great tour.

The best walking tour in Valletta!

This is one of the best walking tours I have ever been on. We enjoyed our time and were taken to wonderful places with the most delicious food and drinks on offer. We learnt about Malta and its traditional food. 5/5 experience and well-worth the price. Although it says 3 hours, it was actually 4 hours. The time flew and we never felt rushed. Ingrid was absolutely incredible. She was exceptional, super friendly, funny and informative.

Our tour guide, Daniela, did a fantastic job in ensuring our tour was filled with interesting facts and history about Valletta, and also filled with good food. Our group was a great mix of folks from the U.S. and the UK, and Daniela ensured that all were taken care of. It was a really good time and I would recommend it to anyone.

This was a great tour. Daniella was super friendly and knowledgeable- not only on Malta history but also on the food. The cafes and restaurants were unique and you actually got regular size portion- not just nibbles. Excellent food!

Very good, but but not excellent!

Absolutely loved the first stop for breakfast and then it was not so great at other 3 stops, food was just average and some of it not really historically connected to Malta (like pecan pie in a newly built hotel?!) The guide was good but at times a bit too sarcastic about Maltese culture. Met some really cool people on the tour though!

We do like to show the contemporary side of our great city too and the fact that our traditional cuisine has now been fused with more modern international aspects. Nonetheless a large part of the tour's cuisine is traditional Maltese fare.
