This was a great day out, probably because we were a group of four only and Mel, of Tye Tours, planned it around us and was generous with his time. So unlike bus tours where half the time is spent queuing to go to the toilets, we had plenty of time to spend at each destination. I came away feeling that I had spent just the right amount of time at each place and was able to enjoy it to the max. We had plenty of stops on the trip. We went up the Cannon Mountain on the cable car and had time to walk to the view tower. We stopped at the Flume and had enough time to do the entire 2 mile circuit walk. There were other short stops plus the stop at a quirky gift shop that sold ice cream sundaes which you could make for yourself.
I came to Manchester especially for this tour, as there doesn't seem to be too much else to do there, and I don't regret it at all. I did the fall foliage tour from Boston and the colours hadn't cooked properly there, but here we managed to see some amazing sights of colours. Perhaps the reds had faded, but the colours were still vibrant and beautiful.
Mel could keep his van more tidy but other than that he was a good and patient guide. Thank you, Mel.
