Discover a different side to life in the Philippines during this 8-hour excursion to the beautiful Villa Escudero coconut farm, enjoying a variety of fun-filled activities and a chance to immerse yourself in Fillipino culture during your visit. This 2,000-acre (800-hectare) estate offers a wealth of cultural activities that will help you introduce you to the daily rhythms of life outside the capital.
Begin your excursion with pick up from your Manila or Makati City hotel around 9:30am. Check with your tour operator for exact timing, as some pickups will commence prior to this time. Drive approximately two hours south of Manila towards Villa Escudero, where you'll spend the day enjoying a range of typical activities.
Hop aboard one of the farm's carts with you guide for a swing around the plantation pulled by carbao (Filipino water buffalo), enjoying local music during your ride. As you move around the grounds, keep your eyes peeled for the farm's Spanish-style horse-drawn carriage, along with its collection of cannons and planes that date from World War II. Then head inside the plantation museum, where you'll learn about the history, religion and culture of the area, as told by the Escudero family's large collection of artifacts.
When you start to get hungry, head to your idyllic lunch spot, set with bamboo dining tables along the picturesque spillway found at Labasin Dam, the country's oldest hydroelectric plant. Tuck into a buffet meal of local favorites like grilled tilapia, kaldereta (meat stew with tomato sauce and potatoes) and liempo (roasted pork) as you cool your feet in the spillway's sparkling waters. After lunch, sit back, relax, and enjoy this beautiful cascade, or take a dip in the villa's spring-fed pools.
Finish your trip with a return drive back to your hotel in Manila or Makati City.

Beautiful grounds. Museum really helped put Filipino culture in perspective. The BBQ buffet was delicious and fun eating under the waterfalls. Wished we were able to see the traditional show. Recommend going on a weekend, to see the show.

This is a wonderfully, relaxing day. My only area of growth for this tour is to allow much more time in the museum with more specific information being shared or a guide that seems really interested in answering what is important to that particular client.
My company guide was excellent, the water buffalo ride is unique, the lunch near the dam is invigorating, and the ability to take photos around the grounds none in museum, unfortunately was excellent. I recommend this for couples or individuals that love vast religious collections.

The tour guide was neither very friendly nor understanding.

Moreover, I expected to see the coconut plantage and learn something about the history and way of life in ancient days. That was obviously not part of the tour at all. Everything was very very touristic and you have to pay for a lot of things extra (e.g. drinks at lunch). Moreover you are expected to tip the employees at the museum, the musician, the waiters, ... As the tour itself was very expensive, I did not have the feeling that this was appropriate.

The water buffalos were treated awfully bad!

All in all, I would consider it as a waste of time and money and did not feel comfortable during this time at all. Therefore, I do not recommend this tour.
