Although I've had 2 successful trips with Viator, this wasn't. My 3 friends and I were herded onto a bus in Marrakech with a driver that spoke neither English or French. One of us had to sit up front next to the driver because there were no other seats available. The driver constantly talked or texted on his phone. He told us nothing about what we were seeing on the way. When we arrived in Essaouira, he motioned to his watch and we got the idea that we were to be back by 4 o'clock. Our tour was supposed to include lunch but when I showed the voucher to the driver, he just scratched his head, Another man looked at it and talked to the driver. The man then said the driver didn't know anything about it. So, the 4 of us just headed off on our own. Essaouira itself is a beautiful little town and we enjoyed ourselves but wish we had gone with Gate 1 instead of Viator. We paid more and got less.
Good tour. The drive is a bit long and stop-off at the co-op was a little short, but the time in Essaouira was good. My guide, Mohammed, was terrific - very informative and patient. He helped me to choose a perfect fish for my lunch.
