it was indeed one of the most adventurous trips for me, discovering the magnifique High Atlas mountains and valleys! abdul our guide and driver was very informative. a plus point, he's also an excellent photographer to help us with some scenic shots! :
we found the hike at the Ourika valley pretty risky with all the slippery rocks by the waterfalls. unfortunately, we did not really expect the steep hikes and climbs plus without proper steps and railings!, so we were definitely not geared up for it. in the end instead of following the group to reach the highest point, we just hung around to chillax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings!
it was such a pleasure to enjoy a traditional home-cooked berber lunch served in a local home on the mountains the most delicious tanjine i've tested during the entire trip. we will highly reco this tour for anyone looking for some adventure in Marrakech!
We really enjoyed this tour. It was great to get away from the crowds of the city and see the Moroccan countryside. A lot of time is spent in the minibus, admiring the beautiful views, but with plenty of breaks and photo stops. The stop at the argan oil cooperative was very informative, and although we were given a demonstration of the products available, we appreciated the fact there was no hard sell a refreshing change from our experience so far in Marrakech!. The location for lunch cooked by a local family was quite spectacular. Ismail was a great guide - chatty, informative and friendly. Highly recommended.
This was a fantastic experience! We were greeted by our driver and guide Mohammad, who was very friendly, welcoming and knowledgable. He explained the sights we passed and answered any questions we had about the local history and culture. We visited the local Berber towns in the mountains and had a professional guide hike with us up parts of the mountain. We visited a local family who cooked us traditional tagine - it was beautiful and plentiful!
Overall, a fantastic day!
This trip was amazing! You have the opportunity to see the rural part of morocco with waterfalls, traditional villages and snow covered mountains. The food at the locals place was very delicious.
Our dirver Ismail was excellent. With his big knowledge and his funny manner he took care that we had a grat day.
We really can recommend this trip!
My favourite tour of all!!
Morocco inspiring tours keep their tours very small max 8 people which in hindsight makes it more enjoyable compared to a bus load of 20 people that I have experienced with a different company. The very friendly Ismail was our guide and he took us through the valleys, pointing out many Berber villages accompanied with very interesting facts, watch out he will test you! We were given several opportunities to stop off to take pictures of the beautiful views throughout our journey. We stopped off to have our guided hike to and up the waterfall make sure you do wear sensible footwear. Again we were surrounded by such beauty. As unfit as I am this hike is manageable. We then had a well deserved refreshment break orange juice/ mint tea and then were back on the road again. We made our way to have our lunch which was freshly prepared we put our orders in when we got collected to begin our tour in the morning at a Berber family house that was served on the roof of their adobe built house surrounded by beautiful terraced fields. The chicken tagine, no word of a lie is the best I have had throughout my stay in Morocco, and the fennel and onion tagine, which I have yet to reproduce was delicious, followed by couscous fruit, mint tea with some traditional cookies. Our last stop was at the weekly local market, where the village folk can buy there groceries and other bric and brac.
Ismail made this tour so much fun with his jovial nature and excellent playlist! It was like going on d trip with one of your friends.
Do not miss this tour, its a must on your list of places to visit.
This was the best full day trip I have been on .Six of us in a very nice vehicle. The driver Ishmael spoke excellent english and was extremely knowledgeable. He provided us with useful facts and figures and he had a wonderful sense of humour. He took particular care of us getting in and out of the vehicle and is a very good driver. His fellow guide Abdul escorted us through the Berber village and he again was informative and concerned for the care of his party over the bridges and at times awkward steps. All in all a thoroughly good day out .
Amazing trip, beautiful scenery, waterfalls, mountains, amazing villages, lunch with the locals, can’t recommend this enough!!
Our driver, Ismail, was brilliant, knowledgeable, friendly, funny and made sure we had a great time!
This was a brilliant trip! Our guide, Ishmail was very knowledgeable and engaged with the group. The booking process was straight forward and we were picked up on time. The hike to the waterfall in Ourika was led by another guide, Abdul who helped everyone along the way. Wear sensible shoes for this as there are some tricky bits to climb. I was expecting to see much more of the waterfall but we turned back after about 20 mins. Seeing the Berber women extracting Argan oil was interesting and everyone in our group bought products but I am not convinced it was best value oil. 33 Rue Majorelle is probably best to go for pure Argan oil. I took a big bag of sweets for the Berber children we saw on our route and they were appreciated! The highlight of the trip was lunch at the Berber family's house...we were all full after this and it was delicious. This was a highly memorable trip!
my friend and I had booked this tour to get out of Marrakech for a day. Abdul picked us up right on time and showed us some beautiful spots and breathtaking views. He was very pleasant, well educated and answered any of our questions, but it was also just nice to chat with him about so many different things and his English is very good,
We first drove to Ourika Valley and went on a hike up to the waterfalls with a local guide. Since we had left Marrakech early in the morning, we were basically the first up at the top and had the place to ourselves. Back at the starting point, the guide invited us to a glass of orange juice, which we enjoyed sitting by the river.
We then drove to the next valley and enjoyed more beautiful views. Abdul stopped at any time when I wanted to take a picture and also pointed out some wonderful landmarks and photo ops.
The highlight of the day was the lunch at the Berber family on top of the hills. The views were spectacular and the food outstanding! The family was so friendly and welcoming and certainly added to this amazing experience.
I can absolutely recommend this tour!
This tour is an amazing day out of Marrakech to see how people live in the villages. The 5 star rating is very well deserved. Everyone else has described all the great things you'll do and see, so I wont write about that. Our guide Ishmail is one of the friendlies, kindest, fumiest, and knowledgeable we have met. He great tunes to play in the car between spots and takes the best photos. He really made the trip special and a wonderful experience. I'll hopefully be back to do a longer tour through the desert.
