Hassle-free hotel pickup and round-trip transport from Marrakech
Too long for day trip, almost 5 hours in one direction, maybe not worth it. Old mini bus, bad air-condition, and quite old and not English speaking driver. Road conditions and local way of driving, I did not feel safe at all. In morning, after pick-up, we have waited more than one hour until they have organized groups.
There was only one hour of time guided around ait ben haddou which was a bit rushed there was also a fee that the guide took for entry. It was not much but would have been good to know as it was not mentioned in the description. There was the option of paying to go into the studio or the kasbah both of which required a fee but you really only had time to do one or the other.
I had to cancel this trip due to ill health and gave the company 24hours notice of this. However my husband went on the trip as intended.
It was scheduled as a pick up and drop off at the Riad. He was picked up at the Riad but a replacement driver dropped the group somwhere in the vicinity of the main square, not even at the recognised drop off area near the horse drawn carriages. He then had to find his way on his ownback to the Riad. They ended up with a 4 hour journey each way and a very short time at the main stopping place. They were not allowed to walk around and just had to view from one spot. This is not the quality of experience I am used to with bookings made through Viator.
PLEASE READ THIS!!!Very important information, the trip is 4 hours in a very uncomfortable van and one of the worst roads to get to Ouarzazate to only stay there for 30 min and 1h on the other place i had the worst tour guide ever very rude and tried to charge the group for everything. NOT WORTH IT
The pick up was excellent. It was on time and a big van which accommodates us all with good leg room. The only thing that I should say is that there was no mention that it was a 4-hour drive! We only knew when we were one-hour driving already. It was too long. Not great for those prone to motion sickness like me cause the road was winding and you'd have to go around the mountains. Although, the destination was worth it. Ait Ben Haddou was a great experience. You'd have to cross a small river so be ready with good waterproof hiking shoes although, you aren't going to get wet. The sun was shining but it was cold with the wind when we were there in January. The tour guide was excellent- multilingual and he waits for everyone. Although, you'd have to give tip, which is not optional. You'd get brought to a restaurant which was very pleasant and good food prices not included in the tour. I wish we had a longer stay in Ouarzazate town, but there wasn't much to see anyway and you don't want to stay out too late travelling in the dark. We left around half 4 in the afternoon and didn't arrive till 9 in the evening to Marrakech. Don't worry, you'll have small pit stops for a snack/toilet break along the way.
The tour was a great experience although, it was kind of a long drive for a day trip. We were semi disappointed because we spent the majority of the day at Ait Ben Haddou and only visited Ouarzazate for twenty five minutes. The tour itself was a wonderful experience and I would do it again in a heart beat.
Picked up very late. Tour guide told everyone they must pay again for tour as it was not included plus give tip. When questioned he smiled as he knew he was ripping people off. Walked around to shops as most of the tour. Forced into restaurant charging x3 going rate.
