Set out from Marrakech on an overnight desert trip and ride a camel through Saharan dunes. Climb the iconic Tizi n’Tichka pass into the High Atlas, pass ochre kasbahs and Berber villages and take in stunning views of the Draa Valley from Zagora. Mount a camel for a traditional nomadic encampment then watch the sun slip into the desert, sleep beneath African stars and rise early to watch a Saharan sunrise before riding your camel back out of the dunes.

Setting out from Marrakech on an overnight desert trip and ride a camel through Saharan dunes... SOUNDS AWESOME. Be PREPARED for a 10 hour ride one way, in a van with NO air conditioning... GOOD TIMES! And bring money with you... you are dropped off at a Berber village, Ksar Aït Benhaddo... you MUST pay the guide for this tour and you don't have a choice if you want participant in the tour.
Please keep in mind the overnight accommodation, you are sharing a tent with up to 5 other people. There is a more expensive option to have a private tent and flushing toilet... the 156 option does NOT offer that.
The dinner was served at 10:30pm and the soup was served out of a bucket... and it definitely was NOT chicken in the Tajine. Breakfast was leftover bread from the night before and the coffee... I am NOT sure what that was. There appears to be a secret comfort package available which isn't advertised...you can have beer and wine delivered in the desert...who knew... and WHY didn't I get that email? If you are interested in doing this, FIND THE MORE EXPENSIVE option... the meals are better and you get a toilet.
Relaxing on Sahara desert magic carpets, watching Sahara tv, other wise known as the night sky. I have never in my life seen some many sparkling star... so that part was AMAZING! The bonfire fire was FUN!
PLEASE keep in mind the overnight desert trip looks nothing like the picture... the desert sand is brown and NOT golden, as in the picture. And Dunes were not impressive... little dumps in the sand. The best part of this adventure was meeting the people on the van, they made this excursion AWESOME!
