Electric Bike Tour to the Calanques from Marseille

Explore Marseille and the calanques on your electric bike tour

Your 7-hour electric bike tour departs in the morning from Vieux Port (Old Port). Before taking off, your local guide will offer a safety introduction to the intuitive and easy electric bike. Fit with pedals and a small motor to propel you forward, this modern ride allows you to see more of Marseille and the surrounding region in less time.
First, head south out of Marseille along Corniche Kennedy, catching scenic views of the village of Vallon des Auffes, Prado Beach and Madrague Montredon. You’ll disembark in the quaint town of Les Goudes for some independent exploring. Wander the secluded village and watch fishing boats drift through the cove. Enjoy a preset lunch (payable directly to guide; see sample menu below) or grab some food of your own before heading to the beach for a game of pétanque or boules – a French game of balls similar to bocce.
Hop back on your bike and wind farther south through the wild and dramatic calanques region. Admire the distinctive limestone rock formations – called the ‘fjords of the French Riviera’ – that wrap around pools of crystal-clear water to make dramatic inlets. Stop at La Plage de la Maronaise (Maronaise Beach) for an invigorating swim, and get a refreshment at a local café or bar (own expense) before heading on to the stunning Calanque de Callelonque (Callelongue Cove). Here, watch small boats drift in and out of the cove and locals lounge on the beach.
To end, you’ll return to Marseille to explore some of city highlights including green spaces like Parc Borély or Campagne Pastré – two lovely public parks – and the magnificent Basilique Notre Dame de la Garde, a Neo-Byzantine Catholic church perched atop Marseille’s highest peak. Enjoy panoramic views of the Marseille’s labyrinthine streets below, the sparkling Mediterranean Sea and the bustling Old Port.
Follow your guide back down the hill to the starting point, where your tour ends by late-afternoon.

Cecile was our guide. She was informative and gave a great tour to my husband and me. Yes it was just the two of us. This was a great orientation to the city, we had so much fun. Electric Bikes are really easy to learn and made the steep hills of Marseille doable.. It was amazing to get up close to the Mediterranean and see the Calanques.

Best way to see the main city sights of Marseille. Emmanuel and Elise are helpful and friendly. The ebike tour was fun. This company is very trustworthy and respond to emails promptly. I will definitely book with them again for a second bike tour when I return to Marseille.

This tour was one of the highlights of our 15 day trip to Europe. I was a little concered on how it was going to be on a long bike ride but the E-Bike made it all the better! Emmanuel was our guide and he took us on many beautiful stops. One of our stops was at a small cafe were we ordered lattes and pastries which we ate at the cafe and then we ordered baguette sandwiches to go to. Emmanuel took us to a gorgeous area overlooking the Mediterranean to eat our French baguette sandwiches, yum! Ask for Emmanuel when booking this tour. He is very knowledgeable, informative, and a fun guy too. Thanks Emmanuel and to your team for making our trip to Marseille so great!

This tour was a wonderful way to complete our vacation in Provence. We cycled the bike does 95 of the work to historic and scenic locations in Marseille, then headed along the coast to a National Park called 'End of the World' by the locals. At our first coffee break I love French coffee we bought sandwiches which we had for lunch at a small village harbor. On the way back we climbed to a famous cathedral for panoramic views of the city. Our guide was friendly, informative, and fun to cycle with. Very good English. Overall, a relaxing, healthy, fun six hours of exploring the Marseille coast.

Manu was great. You can tell he loves his city. He knows the legends, the local stories, and all the details. He even gave us dinner recommendations.

The tour took us all around town, let us experience the city, showed us the coast and park, and enjoy the great Marseille weather. We were thoroughly pleased. We stopped for lunch at a great restaurant he gave us the choice between a nice restaurant and sandwiches and we all agreed a great restaurant was the way to go.
