Great tour, great guide

Tour was really informative and the tour guide, Alex ,was genuinely passionate and obviously in love with his home. It was a beautiful way to see the comuna. We passed by a few other tour guides and I though, wow, I'm so glad we ended up with Alex bc I saw some really low energy people. Alex on the other hand made the tour very enjoyable. Thanks again!

Book with Jamer - he was a fantastic guide who knows the neighborhood very well and shared personal connections & memories from his life experiences, including bringing you into his grandma's house for pictures, micheladas, and stories. You really develop a sense of community here. My gf and I both said it was our favorite part of our trip to Medellin, so don't miss out!

One of the most memorable walking tours I will ever take. The story of the neighborhood was even more meaningful when told in the perspective of the story of our guide Jermar and his family. Our tour guide Alex was amazing. He is from this area and brings it alive with his knowledge, stories and love for his community. He shared such beautiful things about the area, and was so welcoming. We got to try amazing coffee and mango ice cream!

Tour was great. They pick you up right out front of the metro. I didn’t get the email with the instructions before I had left the hotel, but there was someone who helped me find the tour. They are in black shirts with visit Medellin tours written on it. Kevin was great, he explained the main art and the stories behind them, and allowed for ample time to look and take photos. I didn’t go back down with him on the tour as I stayed at the top and explored a bit more. Easy to get an Uber at the bottom, or plenty of taxis. The art changes every 2 years or so. You could walk up Comuna 13 without a tour, but you would miss the stories and background which does help understand some of the art.

Amazing tour, mostly because of Alex the tour guide. This guy literally grew up in the old violence of Comuna 13 and is part of its incredible rebirth. He knows everyone in the neighborhood & has tons of insider info.

Our tour guide Jamer, grew up in the local area and as a result, was very committed and passionate about relaying the history of the area from a very personal standpoint: exactly what you'd want on a tour like this! We all enjoyed the rich history and culture of Comuna 13. This was our first tour in Columbia and was a great way to start! We were also introduced to a Michelada that day, that was truly the best of anywhere experienced throughout the rest of our vacation. Thank you again!

This tour is a must if you are visiting Medellin. Our tour guide Kevin, who is from the community, was excellent -- he gave such a detailed and informative history of the Comuna 13 -- I learned so much! No one should skip this tour and I highly recommend Kevin! We were able to see so much different artwork and Kevin took us to see different performances. The timing and pacing was great and the combination of history, art, music, dance, and culture was excellent. The story of the Comuna 13 is very inspiring and I recommend this tour to everyone. I would definitely do the tour again, it was by far my favorite experience in Medellin.

Seeing the comuna with Kevin as a guide was truly memorable

Kevin showed us an inside view into life in the comuna. He’s a local who could talk about his own childhood growing up there, the history of the place as well as letting us visit his grandmothers house and meet her. I really enjoyed his openness and friendliness and how well he took care of our little group with stops for ice team, coffee and visits to galleries. A very memorable experience.
