That this tour is only a 30 min drive is really convenient and rare.

I was the only person on the tour and he picked me up at the hotel he should have told me to change my clothes since up in the mountains it is cooler and there are mosquitoes.

Colombian coffee farmer Antonio shares his experiences

July did a great job translating Antonios narrative and passion for growing coffee beans and making coffee roast for people to buy. The lessons on the coffee plant how it grows and then the actual walking through the terraced fields picking coffee beans gave us a perspective that you could only get by being at this coffee plantation.

It was an amazing experience overall! I don't even drink coffee, but I knew that if I had a chance to try it, it should be in Columbia. I have an incredible new appreciation for the process of "tree-to-cup" and the plantation itself added to the overall great flavor of the entire experience! Charming family farm not far from Medellin. Daniel, our guide, was excellent; very engaging and knowledgeable. The terrain was steep gaining us an appreciation for the farmer and is workers.

Accompanied by our superb tour guides Andres and Antonio we sampled the coffee and then headed to the hills to pick the beans. Fair to say, we will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again. A very authentic and memorable experience with a local farm. Hotel pickup was easy, our guide Daniel was super friendly and generous with a lot of information about living in Medellín as we took the ride over. The chief farmer Antonio is a warm person you’ll love hearing from. He LOVES his craft, you can tell how genuine he is. We sampled coffee and a new tea creation, and picked some beans as we walked through the entire process from harvesting to bagging ground coffee! We even met Antonio’s family briefly and had a delicious snack they were making at the time. Incredible. Highly recommend!

This tour was the highlight of our time in Colombia, not just Medellin! Do yourself a favor, and book this tour! Andres, our guide was very friendly and communicative throughout booking and transportation, and was very engaging and informative all during the tour. I found the tour fascinating, especially the hands-on opportunities we had to practice various methods of brewing coffee, and picking coffee beans on the plantation mountainside. This trip is a great blend of relaxing and drinking coffee, learning information about the entire coffee process from seed to cup, and getting out into the natural landscape where the coffee grows—even one of our friends who isn't a coffee drinker immensely enjoyed the trip! I felt it was worth every bit we paid for the tour, and improved the way I now make and drink coffee at home!
