Begin your private tour on your terms with a flexible departure time from your hotel in Medellín. Take a short drive to Pueblito Paisa, a traditional Colombian village within the city. Tour the village with a guide and then use free time to shop for souvenirs at street markets, sample local snacks (own expense), and take in a panoramic view of the Medellín Valley. Rejoin your guide to travel downtown and get a dose of urban culture, touring the Zen-inspired Barefoot Park, the Park of Lights, and Fernando Botero Plaza, home to 23 massive bronze statues by a local artist.
After exploring the parks, hop into your private car and drive for about an hour to reach Santa Fé de Antioquia, the first colonized town in the region. Wind along verdant hillsides and past clear views of the Cuaca River along the way. Upon arrival, tour the central plaza to learn about the architectural influences and the city’s founding, and then head to the Juan del Corral Museum, which boats a large collection of artifacts and documents regarding colonization in Antioquia.
On the way out of town, visit the Occidente Bridge, a suspension bridge constructed in the 19th century and notable for its hybridized use of local and imported materials. Walk across the bridge and view the rushing river below.
At the end of the tour, return to your hotel in Medellín or request another drop-off location in the city.
