There is also programmed into the tour free time in Guatape for the visitor to explore the city on their own if desired.
Couldn’t fault this tour! Jesus was an excellent tour guide and showed us so much of Guatape in the time we had. Guatape is a beautiful place and definitely worth a visit if you are staying in Medellin!
This was a beautiful day outside of Medellin. Tour gave what felt like appropriate amounts of time at each location. The locations are stunning. Guides Sander and Elisa were very friendly and knowledgeable.
A fabulous trip to Guatape. They kept us running (I should say, climbing)! We stopped at Manzanilla (I think) to see a "real" town (because charming Guatape is definitely a tourist town, but for Colombians as well), and there we whisked through the worlds largest collection of crosses, which was fascinating. Then to Pinol, a massive granite glacial erratic with a STAIRCASE up the side. Spectacular views all around. Then to lovely Guatape, to see the beautifully-painted buildings (especially the foundations). This was my third tour, but surprisingly, all of the info, even that as we drove through the city, was new. Food was adequate. Tried a shot of moonshine (good!) and had a borojo, my favorite fruit drink.
This was a great day trip. The bus ride was a drag but was unavoidable and our guide/translators kept us well informed throughout the ride. El Peñol is an amazing attraction, don't be put off by the stairs because there are cold drinks waiting at the top. Guatape the town was very tourist orientated and our translator Sanders was very informative a guided us to the best spots. Overall a trip that is excellent value for money!
Worth of every Penny.Smooth check in, breakfast was ok but not fantastic, lunch was tasty . Guatape is wonderful and the guide from Venezuela (Sander)if I'm right was out of chart...I recommend the activity
We had both English and Spanish speaking tour guides and they both were extremely friendly and informative. The tour was planned out perfectly starting with a light breakfast at a small restaurant in Guarne and then on to the typical Colombian city of Marinilla. We had a great tour and were able to browse the shops and vendors. Next we were off to the Penol Rock! We had plenty of time to climb to the top and enjoy the scenery and even had a glass of wine in the restaurant. Then we loaded up and headed to the beautiful city of Guatape only a few minutes away! As soon as we arrived we had a great lunch in the center of the city and it was arranged so that there was no wait for the food. Then we had a great, informative tour of the beautiful and unique city. Finally we had plenty of free time to explore the city before returning to Medellin! I couldn't have asked for a better tour and highly recommend it!!!
