Excellent communication with the company Mekong Rustic prior to the tour. We organised our transport to and from the Mekong via Mekong Rustic and just prior to the tour they provided us with both our driver and guide's names as well as a contact number for our local guide. Our driver arrived promptly and the transfer to the Mekong was very comfortable and safe. Our local guide Nahn met us at the wharf and we then boarded a private boat to begin exploring the area. We stopped at a floating fruit stall where Nahn started telling us about all the different fruits grown locally while we sampled some of them. Next we visited the local market on land including meeting Nahn's mother before continuing onto the local handicraft workshop. It was really interesting getting to see how they made various snacks and candies and there is the option of course to purchase some to take home with you. After this we transferred to the main island and went for a short sampan ride before disembarking and taking a short bike ride to our local home-stay. After a delicious lunch it is ridiculous the amount of food they made for two people we had most of the afternoon free I recommend bringing a book before meeting back up with our guide to meet the farmer next door for afternoon tea. It was then time to get down and dirty literally in the ditch in order to catch some catfish for dinner. Luckily the home-stay is equipped with some outdoor showers so that you can get clean enough to use the indoor variety after this! Dinner was again delicious and the bungalow you stay in overnight is very comfortable although make sure you have the mosquito net properly in place! The next morning after breakfast we went for a bike ride around the island, stopping at a couple of local homes to make cakes and see weaving in progress. Overall it was a great tour and Nahn was a wonderful tour guide with excellent English.

My friend and i booked this trip on line through a suggestion. We went and had the best time. The host and tour guide were brilliant. It was non stop from the minute our driver dropped us off. We did a bit of looking round the market at the amzing foods. Then on to another stop all by boat . We saw rice papaer being made and vietnam sweets. Then onto a bike ride and lunch with a local family.
The best bit by far though i have to say was the cat fish fishing. We caught them by hand in mud and water. This was brilliant....
Such an amazing stay. The cabins were beautiful and surroundings lovely.
Brilliant trip
