Why Travelers Choose This Tour

This 12-hour day trip visits all the most popular viewpoints for maximum photo opportunities.
As you depart Melbourne, your 12-hour tour on the Great Ocean Road begins with the drive out of the city and to the coast, passing by sights, such as Bells Beach, where the World Surfing Championships have been held. Continue along Victoria’s southern coastline to Apollo Bay, a seaside resort destination.

Stop in Apollo Bay to buy lunch (own expense), and then continue your tour to the Twelve Apostles, the major natural landmark of the Great Ocean Road. These craggy limestone pillars that jut up from the water were formed from over millions of years of erosion. Hop off your coach for a little walk along the top of the bluffs, or you can walk down the beach trails for more views of this wild and windy spot.

Next, head to Loch Ard Gorge, where you’ll stop to hear the history of this location known as the Shipwreck Coast. Listen to the story of the Loch Ard, a British ship that wrecked in 1878 with only two survivors, who managed to make their way to shore.

Then continue to your last stop of the day, the seaside village of Port Campbell. Admire its picturesque setting surrounded by Norfolk pine trees and cliffs, and explore the local shops and galleries if you wish.

Your tour ends with the return drive to Melbourne.

On time pickup and departure from Melbourne. Will provided an interesting and informative commentary throughout the near 12 hour tour. All aspects of the tour were put together and gave a great overview of this Australian area.

Great !!!

Although the views were amazing, it is a very long day.
If you are limited by time , just google these structures
spending 14 hours on a bus is a trial.

Great scenic tour for the day. Nice to see less congested areas of Australia.

A very good long coach ride from 7.30am to 8pm.A nice hot day visiting 12 Apostles large rocks in the seathough there are not 12, lockyard Gorge,London Bridge more rocks in the sea, several bays and memorial Arch where the Great Ocean Road starts.Very informative coach driver gave running commentary telling everyone to come back to tall dark and handsome coach driver though he was actually rather short. He said snakes are very rare but beware.Dont go up to it and try to take a photo. They have the law on their side.if you kill one you will go to prison. If the snake kilss you it will be released into the wild again.

This was a fabulous day. Our driver suggested doing the itinerary in reverse as it was summer holidays. Kudos to him, sorry I cant remember his name. He regaled us with local history pointing out several sites along the route and explaining how The Great Ocean Road came to be. We even saw koalas in the wild! Doing the tour in reverse turned out to be a great decision because we got to enjoy The Twelve Apostles, London Bridge and Loch Ard Gorge with relatively few tour buses. It is amazing what the force of nature created! The southern Australian coastline is truly spectacular! The lunch stop in Port Campbell was perfect with lots of places to grab a bite to eat and lots of opportunity to take photos. My advice is to dress for the weather it was only 16 and drizzly even though it is summer and sometimes the windy roads were a bit much.

A great tour that enables you to see the beautiful coastal towns of south Australia. A definite must.

, Jan 2018

Unbelievable views and photo ops but due to the distance covered, time was shorter than desired to take it all in.

My husband and I had a great time on this tour. Our driver Joe was informative, courteous and a general all round nice guy. Plenty of time was given at each stop. Good value and as it the Great Ocean Road was very busy we felt that it certainly beats driving yourself.

Tour was well coordinated and executed. A long day. Since we visited during the Christmas to New Year break, every place along the road was crowded and felt that we didn't get enough time to take in the scenery. Felt a bit rushed. Richard was an excellent tour guide and a skilled driver. He managed to get us through overflowing parking lots without wasting a lot of time
