Mornington Peninsula Cheese, Chocolate and Wine Tasting Day Trip from Melbourne

Wine tastings - Morington Peninsula Cheese, Chocolate and Wine Tasting Day Trip from Melbourne

An easy day trip from Melbourne, Mornington Peninsula offers an abundance of local flavor and beachside charm. After morning pickup at your Melbourne hotel, relax in an air-conditioned minicoach and take advantage of onboard coffee throughout the day. Stop at Arthur’s Seat for expansive views of Port Phillip Bay and Victoria’s dramatic coastline.

Pop in at the charming Main Ridge Dairy to sample a variety of creamy goat cheeses and say hello to the resident herd of goats that provide the milk. Continue on to Sunny Ridge Strawberry Farm to indulge in an array of fruit-flavored treats, including strawberry wine and liquor, chocolate-dipped strawberries and juicy, fresh-picked berries during harvest season.

Next, visit the cellar door of T'Gallant Winery to taste cool-climate varietals like chardonnay and pinot noir. Admire the beautiful scenery of rolling hills as you learn about the winemaking process.

After you’ve worked up an appetite, it’s time for lunch! During the summer season, enjoy a gourmet picnic on the shore with leisure time for a swim or a game of beach cricket. During cooler weather, get cozy in one of the charming cafés in the seaside town of Flinders.

Save room for more wine, as you’ll next head to Red Hill Estate Winery, which features regional varietals and glorious ocean views. Finally, toast your tour with a glass of sparkling wine and cheese pairings at the award-winning Stonier Vineyard. After your delicious day, relax on the return drive to Melbourne, where you’ll be dropped off back at your hotel.

I feel like this is one of the most value for money tours I have been on in a very long time! It is busy, but doesn't feel rushed, you have plenty of food and wine tastings and you don't feel like you have missed out on anything. Our driver, Simon was so knowledgeable and friendly, he made us coffees in the 'Cafe Bus' which was a great novelty too. Lunch was absolutely delicious and better than any lunch I have had on a group tour before, I highly recommend it.

Our driver Pete was absolutely the best - the tour is totally worth it - tastings in 3 wineries with plenty of wines cheese tasting and awesome lunch and chocolate tasting. We loved it! My only complaint was that the tour started at 8 in the morning. We did not get to the drinking part by 10:15 or so but still I think it is a tad too early. I think the wine tastings can fit later in the day.

We didn't end up doing this tour as there weren't enough bookings so we did Yarra Valley Wine tour instead. We had a great day. Great scenery and we enjoyed all the stops.
