Definitely the best way to do this journey. There were never more than 2 other buses at any location and it was still a peak travel period. Lunch was only a sm sandwich, I would recommend adding a bottle of water and maybe an apple or crisps? Everything else was great and he was quite well informed but if you are told lunch is included your expectation is a bit higher than what was basically a convenience store sandwich.
A long day but worth it. Saw so much. Rien was an awesome guide.
Because we did it reverse, we had a relaxing time heading to the first site and caught on sleep :D then when we got to the first stop it wasn't so busy... we got to take decent photos. I loved going down the beach, seeing koalas and kangaroos by Bell's beach. It was so chill and a relaxing day without seeing skyscrapers :D
Brilliant trip, would highly recommend it. It was an early start so having the longer road trip first thing in the morning was good as I had an extra couple of hours sleep before the first stop. The tour guide was great, very friendly and informative and the scenery was amazing.
The Great Ocean Road day tour really is a must when visiting the area! The reversed version was great. In a lot of places it wasn't really crowded apart from the 12 apostles. Our wonderful guide Lizzy really gave a lot of useful information, took us to the nice and calm areas. We were even the only group of tourists when we visited a rain forest and we spotted some wild koala's on our way. Big admiration for Lizzy who was so enthusiastic, had amazing stories and she was super funny. If you have her ask for the shipwreck story and stay alert on the songs she plays in the bus/coach, you will laugh your butt off! Wonderful day!
This was a good tour. Great exposure and lots of stops. A long day. So glad I didn't drive it alone. Daryl ? was a hoot.
An excellent tour and very good value for the money. Smaller group setting with the reverse tour was nice, no crowded areas as advertised. I would most certainly recommend for someone who enjoys being outside a balance of driving and walking on this tour.
Have patience in the pick-up they'll get there, and expect a fairly long day, it is.
What a great tour! Less busy because we went backwards compared to all of the other tour buses and our guide was super knowledgable.
My two girlfriends and I had a great time on this daytrip. We booked it last minute and were so happy with our decision. It was also really nice to be able to get out to the 12 apostles before the crowds so we had more opportunities for pictures with less people in the background. Our small group size made it easy to be flexible with our plan also and our driver, John, snuck in some extra surprises like Kangaroos on the golf course. We even got to see some Koalas in the wild which was a huge plus! I'd highly recommend this trip to anyone wanting to do the great ocean road.
Doing this in reverse is EXACTLY the best way. We passed so many buses headed in the other direction, I can see how the other tours are probably insanely crowded. This tour was worth every penny and I cannot recommend it more! Do the trip in reverse, trust me, you will enjoy it so much more without the crowds. Also, I booked this tour literally about 9hrs before it was to depart and the company was super awesome about contacting me to let me know the rendezvous point.
