When booking your 3-tour combo, choose the date for your Melbourne city tour and penguin parade first. For the Great Ocean Road tour, you can reserve directly with the supplier on a date that comes within seven days of your first tour. Both tours travel in a small group that is limited to 11 participants, and include pickup and drop-off at centrally located Melbourne hotels.
Melbourne city tour and Phillip Island penguin parade:
Discover Melbourne with your guide, who shares the history of Melbourne as you visit highlights such as St. Patrick’s Cathedral, Federation Square, Albert Park Lake (location for the Formula One Australian Grand Prix), the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), St. Kilda Beach and the Eureka Tower, which stands at 975 feet (297 meters) above ground level (entrance included).
In the afternoon, your guide takes you to Phillip Island. Along with the penguin parade viewing at dusk, you'll visit Churchill Island, meet the koalas at the Koala Conservation Centre, and walk along the coastal boardwalk at the Nobbies, home to a large Australian fur seal colony. Warm and waterproof clothing is recommended for this portion of the tour.
Great Ocean Road full-day tour:
Travel in a comfortable van along Victoria's famously beautiful coastal route. Expect to have ample time to take a walk along dramatic beaches and an ancient eucalyptus forest at the the Great Ocean Road Ecolodge where can spot kangaroos, koalas and native birds in natural surroundings. Have lunch at one of the great cafes or restaurants in picturesque Apollo Bay (lunch at own expense). View the striking rock formations of Loch Ard Gorge and the Twelve Apostles in the afternoon before your return drive to Melbourne.
