    What To Expect

    An easy day trip from Melbourne or the Yarra Valley, the Yarra Valley is home to beautiful rolling hills and heritage vineyards renowned for excellent chardonnay and pinot noir. Begin your full-day gourmet tour with pickup at your Melbourne hotel, and then relax on the drive to the valley. For your first stop, visit the family-run De Bortoli Winery to taste a selection of award-winning wines served with local and international artisan cheeses.

    Continue on to visit local wineries in the region and feel free to ask questions about the winemaking process as you sample each estate’s offerings. After working up an appetite, make your way to a winery restaurant for a delicious 2-course lunch paired with a glass of wine. Enjoy fresh regional produce and cuisine among a beautiful atmosphere with vineyard views.

    Next, stop in at Coldstream Hills Winery for another cellar door tasting and tour of ‘amphitheater’-style vineyards built on hillsides. 

    Enjoy the scenic return drive to Melbourne, where you are dropped off back at your hotel in the early evening at the end of your tour.

    Hi Lorraine, The survey is a default from TripAdvisor. You should only fill them out if you want to share your experience. I also think this review may be for the restaurant with the same name and not the tour business. Too much food annoys me too, ask to take some home :)

    We had a wonderful wine tasting with Nicci. Our group kept talking about this day and what a highlight it was in a 2 week Australia vacation. Nicci is knowledgeable, friendly and adaptable. We felt like a bunch of friends by the end of the day. Please don’t hesitate to book this tour and hope Nicci is your tour guide. We especially enjoyed the Chandon tasting and the delicious lunch. The kangaroos were an added happy!

    Nickie was a great host and kept us informed. The small group added an intimacy that I don’t think larger tours would get. Beautiful weather and seeing a mob of kangaroos just added to the day!

    Unimaginably Perfect Day in the Yarra Valley

    It's hard to pick just one highlight of the trip. I learned a lot about the wines of the Yarra Valley, but we so enjoyed our tour guide, Bill, the beautiful scenery, and the other couples on the tour. The wine highlight of the trip was Chandon. I really wasn't expecting the quality to even exceed the French vineyard! It should also be noted that we had an excellent wine and cheese tasting at the DeBortoli vineyard. I liked best the La Boheme Cuvee Blanc NV and the 2017 Melba Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon.

    Absolutely awesome tour! Our cruise ship was diverted from New Zealand due to a cyclone, and Nicci came up with a great last minute tour for 6 couples. We went to three wineries for tastings, had a lunch that was better than many of the cruise ship meals and ended the day with a gin tasting at a local distillery. Driver/guide Bill was outstanding! He even made sure we saw kangaroos in the wild before the tour ended and that took three trips down various dirt roads. He also gave us outstanding information on our drive to and from Melbourne. We highly recommend this tour!

    We had a lovely day visiting the Yara Valley with Nicki and her puppy Josie. Went to three excellent wineries, saw kangaroos run through the first winery which was an amazing sight! Had an fabulous lunch. A great private excursion!

    Not particularly good value Lots of time spent travelling, Guide was enthusiastic, nice person. Some of the vineyards were pleased to see us, others were just going through the motions. Lunch was said to be excellent but really wasn't

    We set off from Melbourne to Yarra Valley for a wine tasting tour. The first winery, DeBertoli, was excellent with the cheese pairing. Lunch was excellent. Our driver was friendly, courteous, informative, and helpful. Our tour was on the day of the Melbourne Cup. She found a winery that brought out a television and we tourists were able to watch the race. The con for the tour was that we really didn't need to do the last winery, or even the last two wineries. We had had plenty of tasting and after a while, the wine was "all the same."

    The wine tour is well organised and a fabulous experience. A great way to get out of the city and see the Yarra Valley. The wineries are excellent and you get to taste the best wines that are produced in this region. Bill is very friendly and happy to accommodate special requests. Everything is punctual but with plenty of time to enjoy a superb lunch. Highly recommended.
