We had a great guide on the bus. The guide on the boat was a little less experienced, but he really tried. The worst part was the walk to and from the boat! Someone could get seriously hurt on that climb!!!

Best bus tour in Memphis

Our tour guide Sam was amazing. Sam made the whole experience enjoyable. He was very professional, provided the history along with additional tips. We felt the bus tour was worth the money. We would recommend this tour but would also suggest they request Sam. We learned a great deal from the bus tour and Sam made it fun. He was also very accommodating and always checking on his group. Watched him help an elderly woman up the ramp from the boat. A real gentlemen.

Make sure you get on Sydney's bus, he's the best. He made it very interesting and he knows his history. Phyllis is also great at her job. She's at the welcome center and she made us feel extremely WELCOME. Both were always nice and willing to help with any information. Our trip was well worth it with the help of Phyllis and Sydney!!!! Highly recommend this tour with the riverboat cruise.

Steep terrain

Slow paced tour of city. Too much about the hospital. The ‘path’ to get to boat was not for everyone. For those of us with Bad knees and out of shape persons, it was horrible. Very steep no hand rails or benches. Do not recommend.

The guide. Sam was exceptional. If Viator has employees like him, then I hope they recognize and reward the stellar job they do. People make the difference, and he was phenomenal. Fun and informative. Flowing commentary sprinkled with comedy. He's a true asset. Memphis itself has a lot to offer, but Sam helped to bring it more to our attention. Just a joy!

Sam was very knowledgeable about the city. My biggest complaint was that there was very poor communication with the pick up time. All corresponding emails stated 9:30. That was the start of the trip, not the pick up, so it was a chaotic start that could have been avoided with better communication.

Poor and not clear for the money we spent
Biancamaria_N
, Jul 2022
We have found this experience pretty poor. The tour guide spoke with a very heavy southern accent and it was hard to understand her. We believe that a tour guide should speak a clear american, understandable to every tourist also the ones coming from abroad. We speak good english and during the tour we had really some issues with it. Then we had too many breaks and we had to wait 90 minutes, after the tour guide left us, for the river boat cruise. A waste of precious time in the heat...
icon Response from Host , Jul 2022
Thanks for your feedback. Our tour guides are from the south so to you they may have an accent so sorry for the language barrier. The 75 minutes break is to allow the customers to have time to have lunch and explore our famous Beale St. before the start of the second part of the tour which has been requested by the customers. This tour starts at 9:30am and ends at 4:00pm
