Early morning guided tour of Chichen Itza before the crowds arrive
Be ready for pickup at your Merida hotel on the first day of your tour at 8:00am. Climb into a comfortable tour vehicle and set off for Chichen Itza, where you'll arrive early in the morning. Before the crowds arrive at this popular site, follow your guide on a tour of the pre-Columbian city, which played a key role in Mayan civilization between 600 AD and 1200. Return to Merida for drop-off at the completion of your tour.
On the second day, arise early again for a 9:00am pickup. Travel to Uxmal, where your guide will lead you on a tour of highlights such as Nunnery, the Temple of the Magician, and the Governor's Palace. Learn about the Puuc style of architecture and decoration, snapping photos of the more than 20,000 tiles on the walls of the Governor's Palace.
Take a break for a 3-course meal at Cananah's restaurant, then move on to Kabah archaeological site. At the Codz Pop temple, learn about Chaac, the God of Water, and view the site where sculptures of Mayan rulers were found. End your tour with a visit to The Palace Teocalli, then return to Merida.
