Take a day trip to Celestun National Park, one of the Yucatan peninsula's natural wonders. Every year, thousands of pink flamingoes flock to the park's tropical waters to spend the winter, sometimes more than 20,000 at once. Take a boat trip out to view flora and fauna, winding through thick mangrove forests and keeping an eye out for wildlife. After your time on the water, unwind with lunch at a local restaurant on the beach. You will also have time for a swim before heading back to Merida.
