Poor directions to the place

The hot air balloon ride was amazing, however, if you choose a tour without a hotel pick up, be ready to be lost at 6am. Our uber driver could not find the address because the company gives an incorrect address. We don’t speak Spanish and the driver didn’t speak English, but he was nice and super helpful and spent an extra 30 min to locate the place. I tried to contact the tour operator, but nobody returned my call. We were 15 min late and had a whole balloon to ourselves. Also, they don’t tell you that you have to climb in the basket, and it you’re not fit or having knees or hip problems it can be very difficult. We took a private guide at the pyramids for 1,200 pesos for the group and I think it was really worth it. You can walk there without a guide and use a google tour 🤷🏻‍♀️ I gave a 4 star for poor directions

What an amazing experience a something you must do when in CDMX! Ernesto, our driver, was very professional, safe, and accommodating. The Hot Air Balloon company was very friendly and safe.... we really enjoyed this adventure. The breakfast afterwards was FANTASTIC.....lots of options-buffet style.

This is definitely a bucket list filler for anyone. The process (from pickup, delivery to the site, and the ride, and return) was pretty seamless. I would recommend you choose one of the recommended pickup hotels for their convenience. We chose probably the worst day of the year for a return, (the beginning of Dia de Muertos), but our driver (Peter) was patient and excellent. The air balloon ride was amazing. One point I have to make is that I am definitely a person with fear of heights. The night before I didn't sleep, I was stressing so much. However, I had 0% fear during the entire flight. In fact, I was sad to see it end. I actually had tears in my eyes, as I was so happy that the anxiety didn't stop me from experiencing something that is so amazing.

By far one of the most well run tours I’ve been on anywhere in the world, and that doesn’t even take into account the incredible views! I seriously cannot recommend this tour enough! From the beginning, our driver, Ernesto, reached out the night prior to confirm the pickup, and then showed up a few minutes early even. Upon arriving at the take off location, they knew who we were and had coffee, tea, and cookies waiting. The waiting area had propane heaters, which was nice because it was a chilly morning. Our balloon captain was fantastic and the views….. wow! Pictures will never do it justice! We paid for the picture package that included the drone footage…. Worth every penny! We opted for the pyramid tour afterwards, and that was incredible! Our tour guide, Louis, was passionate about the site and provided lots of interesting facts that really took the tour to another level! A couple things that I want to note that took this tour over the top for me: 1. While not everyone spoke English, they ensured that someone who did speak English was around to communicate with you. 2. While there were opportunities to buy goods at the temples, we never felt pressured to buy anything. We were shown who was selling some interesting goods that were different from other vendors, but there was never a sales pressure, which was greatly appreciated. 3. We were always made aware of the itinerary and where we were going next 4. Balloon ride over pyramids… I mean, come on!

One of the best experience of my life, it was worth it to pay private tour. My wife and I were able to fly directly above the pyramids. Alan our pilot was amazing , he made the trip so much better than we thought it will be. Everything was perfect, pick up, check in, breakfast , and Ernesto the driver was excellent .

Also please make sure your package includes transportation as our cheapest package does not and although clearly stated for one reason or other this important detail is occasionally missed. The guides didnt speak English at all

It was terrible to sit for 6 hours and the guides didnt even speak one English word even though we chose English guide. We wandered around the pyramids with a guide that spoke spanish the whole time. We learned absolutely nothing about the history of the place. What a waste of money

I have checked thoroughly the situation here and it is clear that you DIDN'T book a guided tour as you can see from the Viator confirmation and our own. Therefore I would ask that you remove your reviews (this and the previous) as they have no merit and would seem unjustified as a result. We also see no reason for a refund given the price paid was the cost of the service received. Our Spanish speaking guide commented that you asked to tag along with his spanish speaking group and he (Esteban) was happy for you to do so at no cost but was being paid to attend our clients in spanish. In the light of the above I would ask that you remove these misplaced reviews and in recompense as customer happiness is very important to us we would be happy to give you an English speaking tour of the pyramids at any time at our expense to compensate for what has clearly been a case of misunderstanding on your part, Best regards

We were so impressed with everything -- from the easy pick up from our Airbnb to the coordination between our balloon operator and the on-the-ground staff for when we landed. Our balloon tour over the Teotihuacan pyramids was an amazing experience. From seeing all the balloons inflated at dawn to the ride itself to the views of the pyramids from the sky, it was simply magical. Our pilot was skilled and experienced--he took us right over the top of the sun pyramid for fantastic views. And I have nothing but compliments for our tour operator, Flying Pictures Mexico. Pickup was on time and we knew what to do and what to expect every step of the way, door to door. We had an issue on our end--one of the people in our party got sick at the last minute--and they were very caring and accommodating in helping us deal with that. A balloon ride is an expensive experience and if I was to do it again I would book with Flying Pictures Mexico for sure.

AMAZING! The pyramids themselves are of course amazing, but the personal attention paid by Sean really made our experience one to be remembered. Although it's included in the price my girlfriend and I were concerned about a shared car to take us from hotel to take-off site (Our trip was April 2021, Covid still a major issue) and were arranging a private car to take us there - expensive but a precaution we thought worth it. Via email I expressed this and asked for specific directions for our driver. Within minutes my phone rang, and it was Sean (the owner of the company) to let us know he understood and shared our concerns, each set of riders would have their own personal car/driver and there was no need for us to spend extra money etc.... Sure enough we were picked up by Manuel who drove us out Teotihuacan, where we were greeted by Sean and introduced to Joel, our balloon pilot, while the coffee bar (complete with tequila shots for those so inclined) was in full swing for all riders as we approached first light. We took off just at first light which was the perfect timing as we were airborne to see the sun begin to rise on the horizon (see picture). Joel explained how and why we rose and descended in order to catch the different wind currents which in turn took us for a truly memorable trip circling over both pyramids (Sun and the Moon) several times, with a beautiful birds-eye view of the surrounding town of San Martin which was also a delight! After a perfectly executed landing (barely a bump) we were met on the ground by Sean and his wife who then drove us to a nearby breakfast buffet to relax and take in the experience before heading to the ground site of the pyramids for the guided walking tour - an optional extra which I would recommend; especially if you're interested in astronomy which was the purpose of these fascinating structures. After this we were met by our driver Manuel who, after we had another nice chat with Sean who wanted to check all was well with our whole trip, drove us back to our hotel in the heart of Mexico City - all before 1pm! I can't compare this to other operators as it's my only experience. However, I can and DO definitely recommend this company as the 'extra mile' and personal attention given not only by Sean but everyone involved really made for a wonderful and unforgettable time form beginning to end. Thanks to Sean and the entire Team!!!! PS : Reviewing my own words here I realize it reads almost like an advertisement! For the record, I had never met Sean before, have no involvement in the company and nothing to gain from a good review. Other than hopefully playing a part in others being able to enjoy what, for my girlfriend and I, was an excellent time all around! Shane (and Natasha)
