Great value
Adrian_L, Apr 2023
This two day experience was packed with many of the must-do events in Mexico City. I was fortunate enough to have the same WONDERFUL tour guide both days, Lilliana. Lilliana is knowledgeable and personable, but is also very firm and about her business to make sure we all know how to have fun and make it back to the bus on time. I was little disappointed with the stop at the silver shop on the day of the Kahlo tour. I know we stop at tourists traps on these trips, but this place was just too overwhelming for me. Toooooo many people in such a small space. I would have enjoyed more time to visit the market prior/post the Frida Kahlo museum visit. I enjoyed the bumper boats, I mean Xochimilco. It was a cute experience and the margaritas are strong! I especially enjoyed Lilliana’s knowledge of the pyramids and history of Mexico. I learned way more than I anticipated. The meetup spot is easy to find and the cafe opens at 7:30am to order a small treat before boarding the buses. I feel like the price was a really good deal for all that was included. Lunches were both good and affordable. The lunch buffet on day 2 was excellent. I’m usually not a fan of buffets, but the food was authentic, tasty, plentiful, and people were not gross with handling food.

Great tours, special thanks to our tour guides - Lili and Miriam on the 1st day and Alberto on the 2nd day! Traffic in Mexico City gets heavy, so be ready to spend time on the bus.

This was a great experience! The day trip to the pyramids and Guadalupe shrine was stellar. Good pacing and riding in the bus was very comfortable. I loved seeing Xochimilco (bring small bills/coins for treats on the boat ride) and the Friday Kahlo tour.

Rough start but ended great
Lisa_V, Sep 2022
Ok complaint bit of a headache but ended ok .The tours are amazing but please know that you are only purchasing a tour with Viator but it is OPERATED and performed by a different company. So Viator is a 3rd party. Also please make sure you are aware that the time it says the tour starts is not the time you have to be at the pick up. We understood the start time to be 9am and got to our pick up point at 8:28 am cuz we did not want to chance it and possibly miss it. Well pick up time for that location was at 8:20am. Again I misunderstood it to be 9am. There was a bus there and I asked the driver and tour guide if they recognized the viator tour company and they looked at my reservation with viator on it and said no but they should be coming shortly since it was still before 9am. They left around 8:45. As 9am neared I called viator to make sure I was in the correct spot and they were the ones that informed me that the tour had already started with the company called Amigo tours. Viator had me speak with the Amigo tours to see if we could reschedule and they allowed me to do the 2nd day the following day and the 1st day of the tour the day after that for an additional charge of $17 each, not bad so we did that. When day one comes around we head to the pick up spot and the bus that we got on was the same bus that I had asked initially if they recognized the viator tour on the 1st day with the same tour guide and bus driver. So please make sure you check to see who your tour is with exactly because viator is a 3rd party. Other than the hiccups on day one The tour with amigo tours was great Again we did this backwards. Day2/our 1st day was Coyoacan Frida and Xochimilco all fun good food and interestingish next time I’ll make sure to do the dinner tour at Xochimilco near sunset instead. I’m kinda happy we did Teotihuacan the last day instead of the 1st cause my legs were so sore cause of all the stairs!!!! Our tour guide on day 2 was Emmanuel from Amigo tours and he was amazing (Even though he is who I asked if he recognized viator tours and he said no the 1st day that we missed the bus??) Anyways Emmanuel is very informative he knows his stuff. His informative tour and sense of humor made the pain I am in 2 days later because of the walking and stairs well worth it. Did I mention the stairs cause there are a lot of stairs. The whole experience was wonderful well worth it.
Response from Host, Sep 2022

Vacation fiasco! Ugh!!!
Elisa_A, Jul 2022
Never had the chance to take the tour. Bus left at 9:00 was told it would stay until 9:10. Us nine passengers arrived at 9:03. Due to the road closure by the Police. We never had the chance to arrived at the pickup point. Tried to explain my situation but they hung up on me. Had to spend more money on another tour company. Tried to ask for my money back but they said no! Lost over $700 dollars on this trip. And an extra $800 on another tour company. Did not want this to happen again so I canceled my CanCun tour with you guys. I will never take another tour with you ever again. Bad experience for me and my family that travel so far only to have their money lost on this occasion. My son's birthday trip. Thank you for making our trip stressful
Response from Host, Jul 2022
Dear Amig@ Elisa_A We are sorry for what we have experienced. Our tours are very punctual, out of respect for the people who arrive on time, we leave at 9:00 am, we can try to delay the departure of the bus, but sometimes it is not possible. The departure of our tours is very punctual and we are sorry that the effects of this chaotic city have affected you reach the experience. Dulce, Amigo Tours

Teotihuacán was very interesting. And Xochimilco was a lot of fun. Day 1 guide was great Leonardo. Day 2 although knowledgeable her English was not great along with having to wear a mask.

Skip this tour as it was a waste of time and money!
Vanashree_N, Apr 2022
I would not recommend this tour, it can more easily and cheaply done on your own. They stop at unnecessary places where you being sold items that the tour operators receive a commission for. The only places worth visiting is Teotihuacan pyramids which you don’t need more than an hour at and the Frida Kahlo Museum. The floating gardens was a terrible experience…it’s on a gondola type boat that goes through an overcrowded river where you are being sold food and items along the way. That was an absolute waste of time. Also note that lunch is only after 3pm on each day so bring snacks with to get through the day.

Great places, but most of the day sat on a bus
Cath_L, Apr 2022
The guides on both days were fantastic - friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. The sites were definitely worth seeing. However, far too much of both days were spent just sat on the coach. The drop offs at the end of the day made no sense and the other passengers had complete disregard for what time we were asked to meet back at the bus after each stop. Also, the tacos served on the boat had raw meat inside... Paid 200 pesos for them and they were completely rancid - the meat wasn't even nearly cooked - when I complained they appeared to just make fun of the situation.
Response from Host, Apr 2022
Dear Amig@ Thank you for your comments, we have taken note of your remarks. Thank you very much for your confidence Dulce, Amigo Tours
First visit to CDMX, great way to sample what this amazing city has to offer.
Veronica_G, Mar 2022
This tour was great. The trip was well organized, the guides were knowledgeable and kept the trip fun and engaging. On the first day Edith Gonzalez and Leticia were our guides and Alejandro our driver. Edith was very passionate about history. I loved her explanations and the perspective she brought to how Mexico was formed. The second day was good. Miriam Mateos was our guide. She was lively and tried to explain things, but something got lost in translation. I would recommend this tour to friends and family.

Drunk tour guide
Rich_L, Sep 2021
Our tour was awful. Kevin was terrible. We had drunk people shouting the entire time. It gave us a headache. Kevin encouraged the drunk behavior. We had a fully packed bus and it was completely unfair for us tourist that wanted a tour and not a party bus. Kevin was drinking with them and partying instead of giving us a tour.

Great way to experience Mexico City
Jose_V, Jun 2021
This is a great way to experience the highlights and history of the city. We were in Mexico City for three days and this 2-day tour hit all the marks. Our first day was great with Fabio our tour guide who explained the locations and significance in history and culture, and Manuel was our guide the following day providing back stories of art and a city walking tour. Both days were just a great experience. The kids loved the canal boat tour, my husband loved the pyramids and for me learning about the Mesoamerican history and seeing Our Lady of Guadalupe shrine and the grounds around the three churchs.

Dear Amig@ Thank you very much for your excellent comment, you share with us the good experience you had, we are glad that you and your family were able to enjoy a complete experience. Dulce, Amigo Tours
AVOID AVOID AVOID!!
LJ_AZ, Sep 2020
AVOID!! Booked and paid for a two- day tour, but NO ONE SHOWED UP TO PICK US UP. No one answered calls, texts, Facebook messages, or email, either, so we traveled to the pickup point At 8:45 am for nothing. Later that night, I got an email asking if we wanted to do one half of the TWO DAY tour we booked. Really?! My conclusion: This is a SCAM. If someone had contacted me to say they had a problem, I would have worked with them, but this is worthless. Money back? Nope. I’ll be disputing this on my credit card. AVOID!

Fantastic tours

We signed up for the super saver two-day tour. We truly enjoyed both days. Rodolfo is VERY knowledgeable and caring; we were lucky to have Rodolfo as our guide on both days. During one of the tour, one of us got separated from the group and got lost, he was helpful in finding our friend. I appreciate his knowledge and patience. Thank you Rodolfo!

Hello! Thank you for your comment, we are very happy to have met your expectations and that your experience with us has been good. Rodolfo will be happy to receive your comment. We hope you come back to live more experiences with us soon. Regards, Amigo Group.
CDMX on 2 Days
Bellanne_T, Jan 2020
Covered main tourist sites in CDMX except Zócalo or Plaza del Zócalo which we will walk and the Museum of Anthropology. Great to get a strong understanding of this area, both historic and cultural. Also beat the lines at the Frida Kahlo Museum. Ivan and Diana were great guides.
Response from Host, Jan 2020
Hello Belle. Thank you for your review. We are very glad due you enjoyed the service. Diana and Ivan will receive your comments too. Remember that we offer many different experiences from Mexico City. Come back soon! Regards, Amigo Group.
Pick up and drop off needs improvement.
Emiliano_L, Jan 2020
The tour was ok, but the way they gather the tourist needs improvement. We have to stand in line in the curb side of the road to wait for another bus for more than an hour. We were exposed to the cold weather when in fact they have three buses parked near us. The brochure says, pick up and drop off is at NH Collection. So I booked at NH hotel for that reason. After the tour, we were dropped at a place we didn't know. Needless to say, we had a hard time locating our hotel.
Response from Host, Jan 2020
Good afternoon Emila. Thank you very much for your comments; we are sorry you didn't have the best experience with us. We offer an apology and assure you we're working to provide the best service for all our friends. We hope you come back soon and let us show you by then that we've improved. Best regards, Amigo Group
Worst experience ever!
Hanh_V, Jan 2020
Day 1: Very confusing pick-up instruction. Misunderstood their pick-up time at the hotel meeting point and missed the tour to Teotihuacan on day 1. Contacted Amigo tour - Not good customer service nor tourist friendly at all! Unable to cancel nor get a refund. Day 2: Very disorganized! There were many different tours at the hotel meeting point and there was no signs to indicate Amigo tours. They overbooked and our small group had to wait at the meeting point for more than an hour. Finally they sent in a minivan, with no tour guide! At every stop, a tour guide from the other group would come to help. Our first stop was at Frida museum; we had to line up for almost half an hour to get in the museum and just had enough time to walk through the museum, no time to enjoy anything! Half of our group were dissatisfied and left the tour after this first stop! Definitely won't recommend Amigo tours!
Response from Host, Jan 2020
Good afternoon. We are sorry you didn't have the best experience with us. Attending your comments. The voucher states the meeting points and the pick up times for each tour. Our staff provide the transportation from the meeting point and in the last place each customer is assigned in the corresponding bus with a guide. At the same way we offer a "skyp the line ticket" for the Frida Kahlo Museum. This place is visited for people from all around the world and in this holidays many customers are waiting approximately 2 hours. We will consider your suggestions to improve our services. We hope you come back soon. Regards.
Great Mexico City Orientation Tour
AniruddhaD97, Dec 2019
This is a great two day tour covering all the historic and other must do sights around Mexico City. Day 1 was excellent - large bus; a separate English guide and super sights. Tlatelolco encapsulates the history of Mexico in a very confined area - Aztec; Spanish and Modern (including the 1968 protests square). Guadalupe Shrine is legendary and the Teotihuacan Pyramids bring forth the glory of the pre-Aztec area. There was a nice stop for a Mexican Buffet Lunch (MXN 205/-). Our second day tour had to be rescheduled because of an unexpected closure of the Frida Kahlo Museum. Fortunately we had an extra day to accommodate. However, the tour operator could have handled this better by providing the information about the closure (we had to ferret it out); and arranging for the the tour on the alternate day (we did not get a place in the regular tour bus and another van had to be arranged at the last minute for some of us; with no guide in the van - a bilingual guide had to be shared with the main bus at all the locations). The sights per say are great - the Frida Kahlo Museum is very charming and so is the Coyoacon area. Xochimilco canal boat rides are entertaining; but meals served are expensive (no alternatives!!). The Olympic Stadium and The University Library Murals were superbly explained by our guide . Highly recommended tour.

Must see
Smadar Q, Dec 2019
Those two tours are really must see in Mexico City. Both tours were informative and give you nice experience. The guides Liliana and Publo were very kinds and gave as all the information needed. The only thing I did not like was the stops for visiting in shops and restaurant which, in my opinion ,were wast of time.

Mix fillings.
Miztlitzin, Nov 2019
This trip has to be divided in two different experience the first part was amazing. The our guides Emanuel and Kevin work together to make of our trip to Teotihuacan one of the best tours I ever took. They are very knowledgeable people, organized and passionate. Their costumer services are to the level of the best I have seen. "Amigo Tours" thank you for it. The second part “Coyoacán and Xochimilco”. Was a total lead by “Sr Antonio” was a complete disaster. Instead of use a microphone to give the general instructions, He decided to do it one by one, and by the end of our trip to Coyoacán, he was not finish and We have to wait for him setting in the bus for a few minutes. We arrived to “Frida!s Museum” at the opening time, but it was crawled, and they did not bought the tickets in advance. For this reason We have to wait on line for more than an hour. They gave Us 55 minutes to see main part of this day tour. And ask Us to be in the meet point at 12:15 PM. We were out late for no more than ten minutes, and they were gone. Later We found other people from the tour that also were left in a city not known by Us, and far away from were we were pickup. We called “Amigo Tours” emergency number several times and ask for the help of a other tour guide from the same company without luck. We finally decided to walk to downtown, and found them thanks to another participant of the tour that was lost and on town. When We finally found Antonio he try to blame Us, and that’s probably all right, but not when 5 of 40 people that you are guiding are lost in a unknown town. Sorry “Amigo Tours”, but if you want to be a successful business you need consistency, and be more selective with your employees, and service policies.
