What To Expect

After morning hotel pickup by private vehicle, travel with your guide to Mexico City’s Tlatelolco, formerly part of the capital of the Aztec empire. Learn the history behind the pre-Columbian and modern buildings that stand side-by-side.

Continue to the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe (Basilica de Guadalupe), one of the most visited places in the Catholic world. Hear about the miracles attributed to the Virgin of Guadalupe, and the importance it holds in Mexican culture.

A short drive later, arrive at Teotihuacan, aka the ‘City of the Gods.’ Walk about the main landmarks, including the Avenue of the Dead, the palace of Quetzalpapalotl, as well as the Sun, Moon, and Quetzalcoatl pyramids. Make your way to the top of the Sun Pyramid for panoramic views.

After Teotihuacan, your in-the-know guide takes you to a local restaurant for a delicious lunch. Your tour ends with drop-off back at your hotel.

Zona Arqueologica Tlatelolco

Currently, the ruins of the Plaza de las Tres Culturas correspond to the ceremonial precinct of Tlatelolco, which bears similarities to Tenochtitlan, both in logic and in the objective: to form a city where the market and trade were the main activity.

Traveler Tips

This tour is worth it for those wanting a personalized pace to your tour.
I would skip the artisan area as it is too long unless you have unlimited time.
The tour may seem more expensive than other however I would not hesitate to reccomend this tour to anyone, it was well worth it.

Our guide Arturo was great. Very informative experience. Loved all our stops especially the pyramids and artisans.
Must do tour!

Where to begin? Veronica was AMAZING and our driver, Victor, was so kind and drove thoughtfully through some pretty heavy traffic. Veronica not only knew her history-she was a solid storyteller and engaged my tweens and teens. We loved her sense of humor and took us to a few historical sites I hadn’t seen before. We didn’t feel rushed at all, she took really good pictures, but we also stayed on scheduled. My family has left the tour with a deeper appreciation of Mexican history—which is saying something as I’m a history teacher and my kids have attended a Spanish bilingual school with an emphasis on history. Oh and she also gave us more tips with visiting the city that have proved really helpful. I highly highly recommend this tour as its foundational to understand the Mexican psyche and roots of its rich cultural traditions. Oh and Veronica is funny—-did I mention that?
Great trip.

Ramon was a wealth of knowledge and we loved our journey out to the pyramids. I’ve wanted to see them since I was a child, so this was the one thing I was looking forward to. We also visited the Basilica which is important to our family and can’t thank him enough for taking care of me and my parents. Thank you!
Bad lunch
Rustin_C, Feb 2023
I loved our tour guide but hated the weird stop for lunch. The food was not very good or interesting and then we had to sit through sales pitch to try to get us to buy over priced obsidian. I'm sure the tour company gets a kick back for bringing people there. Not a fan Tour guide and driver were great though.
Fabulous

Tour was fantastic. Bruno was our guide and he shared so many insights on top of the incredible knowledge. He was very nice and had a good sense of humor.
Rosemary was great
Vidyal_P, Jan 2023
It was a private tour with family. Rosemary was our guide. She was very passionate about the history and knowledgeable. Did not rush us. We had kids and she took care of us throughout the tour.
Unexpectedly fun
DougSheritrip, Jan 2023
Our guide made it so interesting, adding fun facts while keeping it accurate. She used a white-board to facilitate her explanations and clarify the pronunciation of some words. We had a great time. It could not have been better. I know this review sounds a bit "over the top" but it was so unexpectedly fun. Rose Marie (one word or two?) was a delight.

We got to see everything we wanted to. Our guide, Ramón, and driver, Victor, made sure we were comfortable and well taken Care of! It was a great day!

Brian_Z, Dec 2022
Our guide, Ramon, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, showing incredible breadth and depth in his understanding of all things related to Teotihuacan. He was also flexible and excellent at meeting the varied needs of the folks on our tour.
Wonderful Private Tour
Hope_E, Dec 2022
We chose to do a private tour because we wanted a personalized tour. This was truly worth the money and more. Sergio, our tour guide and Danny, our driver picked us up on time even though our flat was not easy to locate in downtown Mexico City district. We chose a English tour guide for us because of my husband doesn’t speak Spanish. Sergio spoke excellent English. He was so knowledgeable with Mexico City’s history and was happy to tell us everything as we drove through the streets. We felt totally comfortable with Danny’s driving abilities in the busy city streets was just absolutely relaxing. When we got to Teotihuacan Sergio took us around and explained all the history of the temples it was very impressive. We had a pleasant home style lunch then went on to the Guadalupe Shrine. The day flew by and it was so pleasant to spend the whole day touring with these professional gentleman. We got to chat with them and enjoyed their conversation. We felt a true connection by the end of the day. Mahalo and Aloha to Sergio and Danny
THE BEST DAYS IN MEXICO

I have NO WORDS to describe how amazing this tour was. Our tour guide Mariana was phenomenal. Everything my husband and I learned and experienced in this tour was indescriptible. We loved our day at Teotihuacan very much with this tour company that we decided to purchase a day to Puebla for the next day with Mariana as a our tour guide as well. Knowing about the history, background and all the little stories behind the big history were just marvelous.
