Meet your guide at your hotel prior to an 8 a.m. departure and board a private vehicle for the 2.5-hour drive through the countryside to the cities of Cholula and Puebla.
Upon reaching Cholula, an ancient city whose pre-Hispanic roots stretch back to 2 BC, climb the world’s largest pyramid by volume located in the town’s center to take in views of the colorful scenery below.
Continue on a short drive to Puebla, one of the largest cities in Mexico and the only city in the world situated among four volcanoes. Tour the “City of Angels” with your guide, which is equally famous for the handmade tiles covering its streets as for its gastronomy scene. Walk through a local market to taste the authentic Mexican dishes that the city is known for, like mole poblano, a sauce often served over meat, and chiles en nogada, a sweet-and-savory stuffed chile (own expense).
Transfer back to your hotel in Mexico City at the end of your tour.
