Our tour guide was quite knowledgeable and personable. I was a bit hesitant about going on this tour due to being an atheist but the beauty and history of the shrine can be appreciated regardless of the beliefs you hold. take the tour!

Great tour for the faithful pilgrim as well as the culturally curious traveler. Well worth the visit. Great guide.

My tour guide was friendly, well informed, flexible, and spoke English very well. He certainly made my Spanish more passable. Muchos Gracias!

I had no idea that the sight is really a campus... there are multiple churches, chapels, sights. I wouls not have otherwise known what to make of it all without the tour. The basilica nuevo is an amazingly prayerful place, as is the burial place of Juan Diego. Can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful tour with Lourdes. There was only one other person on the tour and so it was really like a private tour.

This was the main reason we came to DF. It was to make our Pilgrimage to see Our Lady Lady of Guadalupe.
It was very inspiring and to learn more about the Aztecs and Cortez's Conquest and to see the significance of the five churches that surround the shrine. In the old church there is a table you need to ask about. It is a beautiful table that may have been oak. Nothing was on it but it had much to do with the United States and Mexico 's Treaty. That is a whole other story my fellow VIATORS and you have to research that for yourself. But it affects we Americans and Mexicans to this day.
On this tour make sure you drink a lot of water because your gonna climb a hill...not as bad as the pyramids but if your not in shape be ready. Tell you what though the view is awesome!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Shrine. He is a life long Catholic, and it meant a great deal to both of us to visit this spot. He was able to attend mass and take communion in the main shrine cathedral. Our guide was informative and made sure we saw all of the parts of the Shrine. He was also very good at taking our photo on the moving sidewalk under the Virgin on the altar.

It was like a private tour. We were the only couple, just two people. Our guide, Elizabeth, was great. She was knowledgeable and accomodating to our needs. The driver was also good. Driving a van through the streets of Mexico City is no easy task. All in all, a really good time.

We really lucked out with our tour. We, a couple, were the only persons scheduled the day we went. As a result our guide was able to provide us superb attention and did so. It was more like having a conversation, than a tour with all our questions being answered. We were surprised at the immensity of the facilities associated with Our Lady of Guadalupe and the multiple churches on the grounds. There is much more to see than you would expect. It is also beautifully landscaped. There is a plaza that reminded me of Tiananmen Square in size. In December as many as 6 million people have come to this place. Our guide was a young woman and she was wonderful, with excellent English skills. This is an easy tour with time going back and forth and attending a service in the basilica. One note, the climb to the original chapel is at the top of Tepeyac hill and does require some moderate exertion, but it is well maintained stairs and offers beautiful views. There are cheaper ways to see this site, but I feel we received superb service left at 3 p and returned around 6:30, I believe, and overall certainly received our 24 U.S. worth.

This is one of those tours that really depends on one's interest in the site, but as one of the most visited religious pilgrimage sites in the world, certainly worth considering. No regrets here. Missed it on my last trip to Mexico City many years ago and wasn't going to this time. Fotos are allowed everywhere except the original chapel.

This was a very nice tour and provided a nice insight on the shrine. The tour itself was a great value for the price and the guide was very friendly.

The man who gave the tour Antonio was wonderful. He showed us all of the important locations at the shrine. There is no small map at the shrine to show you the sites and almost no one speaks English, so his information was critical to understanding the site. However, the location where you need to pick up the tour is not so nice. It was hard to find and the interior of the building was not well kept. They should consider picking people up at their hotel. Plus the air conditioning in the van was not working, so it was necessary to open the windows on a hot day. The shrine itself is a must see especially if you are Catholic.

We first had to meet the tour guide at Amigo Hostal. The area isn't the greatest, so thankfully we arrived in a taxi. We were sure to request an English guided tour but I don't think the company made the tour guide aware of this. Our guide's English was a bit difficult to understand. He was very knowledgeable and kind, however. The tour was well worth it, however, and we were able to stay for evening mass. At the end of the tour, the tour guide and driver generously dropped us off at our hotel.

DO NOT book any tours from Amigos Tours! They are the most incompetent and rude company we have ever encountered. We have traveled all over the world and booked a lot of tours from Viator and have never had any problems before. Unfortunately, this vendor should've never been recommended by this website, because they don't meet their quality standards. Viator, please stop recommending Amigos Tours! We booked an English tour which was supposed to go from 3pm - 5pm. First of all, their offices are located inside a youth hostel in a very hard to find street of the historic area, in a very hidden, back room office. Everyone that works there is very rude, unorganized, incompetent and don't even want to talk to you or answer any questions. We came in on time and were rudely kicked out and told to wait in the downstairs youth hostel waiting area, which was dirty and smelled gross. Then, when the tour guide showed up LATE, he didn't even acknowledge us or give us any updates on the tour details. He just sat down and looked at his cell phone. The bus was almost an hour late and the guide didn't even speak English. We decided to give them the benefit of the doubt since we had been waiting for over an hour and I spoke Spanish, so I could translate for my family. When we finally got to the shrine it had been almost two hours late and a lot of the church sites and museums were closing. The tour guide was just looking at his cell phone and didn't even know anything about the history or details of the church. He couldn't even answer any of our questions regarding the history, names or dates! Then, to top it all off, we had a small group of 8 people including my family of 4, but he still managed to lose one of the couples that were in our group and didn't even know they were missing until we made him aware of it! We wasted the entire day and missed our dinner reservations that evening, so we just decided to take an Uber back to our hotel, instead of waiting another hour for their bus to pick us up from the shrine, which was late again! PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS TOUR CO. You will regret it!
