Save Yourself the Disappointment and Find a Real Tour!
, Mar 2020
This was not a "tour." This was a transportation company pretending to be a tour company. Pros: - Car provided was clean and comfortable - Communication from the company was solid - Jorge, the tour guide, was really lovely. He was incredibly knowledgeable. Spoke great English and was accommodating and full of interesting facts during the car ride only. Cons: - If you read this tour's offering, it says bottled water, the tour guide, etc. are included, with the only "exclusions as food and gratuities." We never received any water (which in Mexico is a necessity) and were told that we needed to buy our own tickets to enter the Guadalupe Shrine and Teotihuacan. Nowhere on the tour site does it say that the tickets are not included! - When we met the driver, he was surprised that we wanted to go to the Guadalupe Shrine—which is very clearly a main component of the tour. - We also were taken to a honey/crystal factory that was not listed on the tour, and while interesting and informative, it took an unscheduled 45 minutes, which meant we had less time to spend at Teotihuacan. - The most disappointing part of the whole experience was that Jorge did not even accompany us into Teotihuacan. We essentially had no tour guide for several hours of the tour. Leading us to repeatedly ask ourselves why we paid $200 to walk the grounds alone. Overall, our tour guide aside, we felt cheated and misled by what was outlined for this tour and what we actually experienced. When we realized that the unscheduled crystal stop gave us little time at the pyramids, we were informed by the company that each additional hour would cost us $30. Again, what is really the value of this “tour” company? You are better off going with a less expensive option or hiring a tour guide yourself - save yourself the disappointment!
Not what I was expecting

The guide was a lovely man, very friendly and very accommodating. He picked us up at an earlier time (although he was 10 minutes late, Mexico time I presume) and we had arranged before to not go to the shrine, but spend more time in Teotihuacan and visit the museum on site instead which was great. However the main problem was his mobility as he couldn't walk very far or up steps, the place is huge and takes a long time to walk from one end to the other. There are many ruins along the way for which we had no guide or information as he drove himself from one end to the other and met us there. Over all it felt more like a glorified and very expensive taxi ride. If I had this information before I definitely would have booked a different tour.
