What To Expect

Begin with pickup at your Mexico City hotel, then travel to Xochimilco in a private vehicle. Built on the remains of an Aztec city, Xochimilco’s canals and artificial islands are part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and you visit the site by trajinera, a traditional barge with a flat bottom and bright designs.

Continue to the Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli, which the artist built for his collection of pre-Hispanic artifacts. Take in exhibits that celebrate almost every indigenous group in Mexico’s history, then climb to the second floor to see Rivera’s own works displayed. Drive to the historic Coyoacán neighborhood to visit the Casa Azul, or Frida Kahlo Museum, where the painter lived, worked, and died. Learn about her life and see important examples of her work, and take time to explore the colonial-era neighborhood on foot.

Make a final stop at the national university to see a series of mosaic murals that tell the story of Mexico in towering, symbolic designs. After visiting the murals, pause to see the Olympic Stadium before returning to your hotel, where this tour concludes.

Parque Ecologico Xochimilco

This working in southern Mexico City gives way to the famous canals of Xochimilco, the last remnants of an enormous system to transport water that the Aztecs built. You can take walks in colorful boats similar to the gondolas while they pass browsing food vendors, artisans and mariachis.

1 hour Admission Ticket Included

Museo Frida Kahlo

Located in one of the most beautiful and oldest neighborhoods of Mexico City, the Blue House was converted into a museum in 1958, four years after the death of the painter. Today it is one of the busiest museums in the Mexican capital.

      Loved the whole experience

Our guide Rosamaria was lovely and enthusiastic. We had a wonderful day. Xochimilco was a colorful, musical moment on the picturesque boat "Lupe" skillfully maneuvered by Marco. We enjoyed some delicious quesadillas in the market at Coyoacan before visiting the memorable and moving Blue house where Frida Kahlo lived.
      We enjoyed the tour. ...

We enjoyed the tour. Nicely organized, not rushed. Arturo was a good guide. Car was comfortable. We didn’t have to wait in long lines.
      Terrible guide
      Beth_Y, Jan 2023
We had a challenging time on this tour from beginning to end. We received no introductory text from the guide so we didn’t know where to meet in the hotel. I rambled around outside asking random strangers if they were there to pick us up. I sent a message to the tour company and they eventually wrote back and said the tour guide was in the lobby. We finally found him. He was sitting in the lobby on his phone, which would be a theme for the day. He didn’t tell us his name (maybe so we can’t include in review) but he was wearing a yellow mickey mouse sweatshirt. We drove in silence to the first location. Finally I started asking him about the agenda and when we’d expect to return to the hotel. He said that we’d be getting back to the hotel around 2 or 3. I asked him if we could stop somewhere for lunch since that was too late for us to eat. He said “of course”. We made it to the first stop (university city) where Mickey Mouse seemed to be fairly knowledgeable although his English wasnt great. Next we headed to the boat ride. Mickey seemed to be thrilled to be there. He took selfies and ordered food for himself. We should have ordered lunch on the boat but he didn’t mention that as an option. He spent most of the time on the boat texting. Next we got to the Kahlo museum where he dropped us off with no explanation about the content of the museum. We were very hungry after the Frida museum but he again spent the drive texting and didn’t offer us any lunch options. We next stopped at the Diego museum where Mickey did accompany us. There was a small cafe where we ordered coffee and cookies. Mickey sat with us but was texting the entire time. i asked him if he had any information about the museum. He didn’t respond. Once we entered the museum he said that he couldn’t give us any information. He took lots of selfies. We exited the museum and we had to wait for Mickey to come out. He told me when he did come out that he’d never been there before!!! It was now 4 pm and we’d had no lunch. We decided to just head back to the hotel. However, Mickey had another stop planned that he hasn’t mentioned when I asked him about the agenda- coyoacatan. I was so irritated. He said we’d be back at 2 or 3 and by this time it was almost 4:30. I asked to be taken back to the hotel. We really enjoyed the museums and boat ride but this guide was terrible and we were hungry.

Hello, We are very sorry for the inconvenience, our work team is always selected with extreme care, therefore, without a name we have no way of identifying and correcting these situations, within the training of our tour guides, one of the first rules is to introduce yourself to your visitors and they are forbidden to take food. A name would be very helpful. we apologize.

Rosa María our tour guide was excellent. She was knowledgeable and provided enough history and detail without inundation that was overwhelming. Just the facts. She was personable and accommodating. Our driver was also safe and ensured we were ok. Highly recommend.
Awesome, but could have used more time touring Chinampas
      Brian_Z, Dec 2022
The Chinampas were a highlight of our trip to CDMX, I only wish I knew I could have hired our excellent tour guide (Ramon) for a full day touring them. Not to say there was anything wrong with the Frida Kahlo museum—it was great-but tour guides aren’t permitted there (so we didn’t have Ramon).
Great Tour with Ramon and Antonio
      FRANK_C, Dec 2022
Ramon was a terrific guide and Antonio a great driver. Ramon was so knowledgable and personable throughout the tour. Both guide and driver are to be commended!
      Xochimilco tour was fantastic!

Sergio, our tour guide, and Roberto, our driver, made our day tour so wonderful! Sergio knew so much about the sites we visited and his information and insight was invaluable to understanding all that we were seeing. Everything that day was easy and enjoyable. We can highly recommend this tour and this company.

Ray was an excellent guide for the tours. Our driver, Eduardo kept us safe in heavy traffic. All of the tours were fantastic and we were lucky to tour Frida Kahlo’s home as well as Diego Rivera museum. Highly recommend this tour

We booked this private tour and the experience was amazing - the mosaics at the university, the museums, the markets. Our guide was simply fantastic - quite knowledgeable, friendly, and well traveled. We do a lot of excursions when we travel and our guide was one of the best!

      Wonderful day!
      Christen_M, Nov 2022
We had a wonderful day in Mexico City with our tour guide Arturo. We were picked up on time from our AirBnB and we navigated the city all day. The ride was comfortable and Arturo was super knowledgeable. We went to the University first and then to Xochimilco. The ride at Xochimilco was amazing, we had an awesome female led mariachi band come on board and one of the best meals we had during our trip while on the boat. Following that we went to Museo Diego Rivera Anahuacalli which was beautiful and then we toured around Coyoacan where Arturo also had us stop for churros. We wrapped up out day at Museo Frida Kahlo and it was all we expected and more. It was a great day!
We spent a full day with...
      Mark_S, Nov 2022
We spent a full day with Carlos exploring the festive Xochimilco canals as well as the art of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo. Along the way, we stopped to see the National University of Mexico UNESCO World Heritage sites and strolled through the Coyoacan market. During the course of the day, Carlos educated us about the history of Mexico and offered his perspective on culture, politics, food and more. He was very personable, knowledgeable, engaging and accommodating. Overall, this was a fantastic tour - highly recommended! PS Pro tip - traffic in CDMX is brutal, so plan on a long day and late lunch. Consider buying some finger food from boat vendors in Xochimilco (options include native corn and sandwiches, among others) to help tie you over before lunch.
      Excellent private tour
      Alison_S, Oct 2022
We loved the boat ride in Xochimilco, Frida’s Casa Azul and the other stops. Our guide, Arturo, was very informative and friendly. We were glad we paid a little more and got a private tour.
      beautiful sites, terrible guide
      Cynthia_G, Oct 2022
The sites we visited were great because my husband and I made the best of it amongst ourselves. We paid extra specifically for a private tour with an English speaking guide and when we were picked up the guide spoke only Spanish. What didn’t make sense is the company called me the night before to confirm the tour would be in English so I assumed we were on the same page. Instead I spent most of the day trying to translate to my husband. My husband who is extremely polite attempted to ask the guide a few questions in (broken) Spanish and the guide brushed him off and literally laughed a little, which pissed me off for a number of reasons. After that we checked out mentally and just rolled with it until the end of the day. Like I said the sites themselves were great, didn’t have to drive, had our tickets but the guide was TERRIBLE and rude. Wish I remembered his name but he was an older very thin man with blue/green eyes. I would recommend the tour but would also strongly suggest reiterating your needs.
      Response from Host, Oct 2022
Good afternoon, we received before your comment a false refund attempt by you ensuring that our staff did not show up, which is false and now aims to discredit our service by ensuring that it was very poorly attended looking for a refund. We comply with everything we offer and our staff always seeks to provide you with the best care.

The tour guide was excellent. Very knowledgeable and personable. The driver was fantastic. Overall, a memorable experience.
