Jocelyn was a wonderful guide, very personable, and clearly had a vast amount of knowledge about Mexico's history. It was definitely a smart move to have English translations for our visit to Chapultepec Castle and the anthropology museum. So much information to absorb, and as others have pointed out, all of the signage at Chapultepec is in Spanish. Our only critique was that it felt as though more detailed information was presented to the other guests in Spanish, then summarized in English without as much detail. It was a bilingual tour so I know some of this couldn't be helped, and honestly, I can't be sure my observations is true, but that was our experience. All said, I'd still book again!
Ernesto is an amazing tour guide because he knows so much about the history of Mexico. We met early morning in Chapultepec Park for a walking tour up to the Castle. The walk itself is beautiful. There is so much vegetation in the Park you can barely hear the busy traffic of Mexico City surrounding it! The Castle itself is very interesting and Ernesto explained the stories of important figures who helped shape modern Mexico. He was thorough and went deep, making it clear to all of us that he passionately loves Mexico and her history. Following the Castle, Ernesto took us to the Museum of Anthropology. For me, this museum was the highlight of my vacation. He led us through the signature exhibits. I cant wait to go back and spend a week exploring the museum.
This tour was a beautiful experience, I learned so much. Our guide from Amigo tours was informative and funny this made for great tour.
We loved this tour and our guide was very informative! My only suggestion, is that the guide wear a hat with the tour company logo. In rushing to get to the meeting point on time main entrance was closed, we scrambled a bit to locate him apart from other folks there. Once we got going though, we really enjoyed it! We learned about how diverse the culture was here, as it wasn't just the Aztecs. Just like in present day real life, there are plenty of layers of rich history interwoven into the heritage of this region. Looking with my California/American eyes, we mainly just hear about the Aztecs and Mayans. Loved that our guide shed much light on the variety of cultures as we toured each section of the Anthro museum. And as he did with the pre-hispanic history, so he did with the more modern history in regards to the castle. Loved the stories he shared about Benito Juarez and Emperor Maximilian. Besides hearing their names in passing, I had know idea about the complexities of Mexican political history. We really enjoyed each tour. Not meaning to confuse in my review, but we did the castle tour first, then the museum. Enjoy!
This trip was great! Our tour guide Julio was friendly and very entertaining. He conducted the whole tour in Spanish and English. That is going above and beyond making sure everyone in the group learned something. This tour will not leave you disappointed.
An amazing tour with a brilliant guide. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the meeting the guide in the heart of Chapultepec Park on our first morning in Mexico City after a lengthy journey to get there but it was definitely worth it. It was great visiting the castle before the hordes of people descend on it and the anthropology museum was outstanding. There were only three of us as part of the group which certainly helped but our Mexican guide, Kevin was excellent, He was extremely knowledgeable and had a relaxed manner about him allowing us plenty of time to take photographs and enjoy cafe along the way. We never felt rushed and it was an excellent experience. I would thoroughly recommend to anyone.
An outstanding experience. The guide was extremely knowledgeable. Highly recommended.
Excellent tour!!!. Francisco made a great job explaining the Mexico history during the tour. It was well planned and with a great value!!
Gerson was our guide--we love this guy! He is entertaining and hospitable and really made this trip enjoyable. I brought my study abroad university students, and we had only just arrived in CDMX 12 hours earlier, so it was very hard on us to follow Gerson up the path to the Castillo--that's my only suggestion, keep in mind that not all guests are acclimated to the altitude of CDMX.
Early access to Chapultepec Castle meant that we had the place to ourselves to enjoy before the gates were opened to the public. And then we got a wonderful introduction to the Museum of Anthropology. At the end, we asked to be left to take even more time in the museum to see the special exhibits. I learned so much, thanks to the knowledgeable guide. Thank you so much!
Excellent tour, everything on time, the guide assigned provided great explanations, he was a very nice person. I highly recommend this tour.
This is really two separate tours in one. The castle tour requires quite a bit of walking up a winding stone road, not an easy walk. One lady in our group had breathing problems dealing with both the altitude and air quality, another with a weak ankle. Good walking shoes are a must. The museum is fabulous! Large, modern and well laid out. Many of the signs are in English which I really appreciated, since the guide's English was an issue sometimes.
Chapultepec is a must tour. Beautiful, interesting, and full of history. Anthropology museum contains some must see in order to understand the Aztec civilization and Spanish conquest.
We enjoyed our visit to Chapultepec and Museum of Anthroplogy immensely. Our guide ANTONIO from Amigo Tours did a superb job.
He was very knowledgable and punctual and had a great personality. Thank you
We loved our tour. What a great opportunity to see such wonders. The Chapultepec Castle is beautiful and the Anthropology Museum fascinating. Our guide Antonio was extremely knowledgeable and nice, as was Victor, is colleague :
Our tour guide Kevin was great. The Castle of Chapultepec is absolutely amazing. Do not miss it.
Wonderful tour and Francisco was an excellent tour guide. We started at the Museum of Anthropology. Francisco has a degree in History and he was the perfect guide to have to start to understand the fabulous history of early Mexico. He was also very helpful at the beginning of our tour when several people wanted to get a Starbucks coffee before museum and lunch at the stands outside of the museum. We then walked to the Castle of Chapultepec, when again, Francisco's knowledge of history was outstanding. The tour picks up and delivers you back to your hotel.
Lulú is a wonderful guide, very friendly with a lot of knowledge of México, always making sure we were ok and answering all our questions
My family and I took this tour so we could follow up on the history of the ninos heroes and we where in for a big surprise we learn so much more then expected.
Wow... Our guide Ligia was fantastic. She made the tour. The trip to the Castillo was enlightening and enformative. Walking through the Bosque de Chepultepec was pleasant as it wasn't busy. The Anthropological Musuem is very well done. We experienced 3 halls and learned so much if the Aztec history and about the fall and progress of the region. Thus is a very god tour.
A hidden gem in Mexico City! A lot of people don't realize that there's a beautiful castle in the city, and one that's definitely worth the visit! Our guide was fantastic - so knowledgeable about the history of the castle and its surroundings. Definitely recommend booking this, you won't regret it!
