What You Can Expect

Bahamas Ferry Day Trip from Miami with Transport

Grand Bahama Island

This full-day adventure to paradise begins with an early morning Miami Beach or downtown Miami hotel pickup. A state-of-the-art motor coach will provide transportation to the Port of Miami. Then climb aboard a ferry, complete with casino slot machines, a full bar and a duty free gift shop, for a relaxing 2.5-hour journey to Freeport, Grand Bahama, one of the most popular islands in the Bahamas.
Upon arrival in Freeport, find transportation (like the beach shuttle or taxi) to the beach, located about four miles from the port. Soak up the Bahamian sun on the white-sand beaches, rent a Jet Ski or try parasailing or snorkeling, just to name a few options.
Then visit the neighboring Port Lucaya Marketplace, a vibrant, open-air shopping hub overlooking the waterfront. See one of the largest straw markets in the Bahamas, plus duty-free and handcrafted items galore. Also, don't miss Retail Street for jewelry and souvenirs. Or head to Treasure Bay Casino and settle in at one of 30 gaming tables or 400 slot machines
Hungry? Savor the local flavors at any of the island’s cafes or restaurants. There’s something for everyone.
After approximately five hours, return to the ferry for the voyage back to Florida and a Miami-area hotel drop-off.

3 star rating: Worth doing June 2016

The Baleria cruise and accommodations themselves were fine, though departure from the boat once arriving and departing was excessive. Only there for a day cruise which is too short. Only about 4.5 hours on the island. Would recommend overnight stay for future travelers.

I was disappointed that once the bus arrived we were charged an additional 10/person that was not previously disclosed. Then once we arrived to the Bahamas there was another charge for a day pass that the hotel we were told this was our destination.

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better April 2017

Took longer than expected, wasn and #39;t really organised at all. Where the bus stops, walk 10 mins to a free beach, otherwise you may be asked to pay

2 star rating: It was OK, but could have been better October 2016

Not a lot to see when get there. A very long day. No quick cat boat trip is offered. It is all ferry now and takes over 3 hours for the trip. There is no outside seating on the ferry. Can only stand out the back, then you get fumes from the ferry engines. Only a small community with shops geared for the tourist only and expensive. Also 20 minute bus ride from port to the town centre which cost extra 10. Could spend your day better elsewhere.

1 star rating: I do not recommend this January 2017

DOOON'T DOO IT. You only get to spend like a maximum of 2,5 to 3 hours at the Bahamas. That's not worth the money!!!!!
